Miss Tick Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 At home alone? If he has friends that can do outdoor things with him, Kubb had been a popular game here. My DS also had a group that gets together occasionally for Nerf, which, by its nature tends to be socially distanced. 😄 My DS has been leading his scout troop in meeting online. Just recently they have started meeting outdoors once a month. They use a gamer app, Discord, for the online meetings. Usually it is audio only. Much better than Zoom. My middle school DD has monthly book club meetings online to help keep up tenuous in-person friendships. For online games, all my dc have been playing Minecraft and this week's favorite game, Among Us, using Discord at the same time for discussion during the game. Apparently one of ds's friends is setting up D&D online. I don't think it has happened yet, though. On his own, ds likes to play an app called Soul Knight. Or were you hoping for something educational? 🤪 Quote
BrandonMommy Posted September 3, 2020 Author Posted September 3, 2020 Educational or not! Thanks! Quote
Momto6inIN Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 The Reel Math Video Challenge by Math Counts has been a good project for my middle schoolers Scratch and NXT Legos too Quote
ChocolateCake Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 (edited) My ds13 uses an over-the-door basketball hoop (with a rubber ball) and a magnetic dart board in his room. ETA: We invested in a 3D printer this summer so he's been making gifts for friends and extended family members Edited September 6, 2020 by ChocolateCake Quote
Ausmumof3 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 My middle schooler has enjoyed chess, nerf wars, minecraft, and fly tying, Rangers apprentice books and lure making. He’s just got into detective novels so going through the old favourites. Quote
