mom31257 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Good morning! I realized late last night I never made it back on here yesterday. I was so tired by yesterday afternoon and took a nap. I never do that. And I was able to sleep last night. I did wake up having turned on my left side and my ear was hurting. Overall, I'm much better, though! I slept in this morning, but I've had coffee and managed the online bible study groups as well as some tidying up. meals possibly go tutor a student later this morning pick up ds' friend and take them to a pool party for our homeschool group dd coming sometime this afternoon! relax and enjoy the family being together (play some games, probably D&D sometime over the weekend, too) 4 Quote
Selkie Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Good morning! finish up office work for the week post office arrange for UPS or Fed Ex pickup (The UPS Store in town closed, so everything has to be picked up here now. Not a big deal, since UPS and Fed Ex are here every day anyway, but kind of a pain to have to arrange it ahead of time instead of just dropping things off at the store.) order hay return a call from the vet's office (they want to know how Tigerlily is doing and I need to schedule some kitty checkups) dust and vacuum main floor & maybe upstairs if I have time get my Schwan's order together go through the potatoes and onions in the pantry - some of them are past their prime prepare for potentially bad weather this afternoon and tonight (A cold front is moving in, which will be a relief, but we are supposed to get severe storms along with it. I am feeling uneasy about bad weather these days, ever since our cars got struck by lightning and the derecho caused so much destruction fairly close by - so fingers crossed this will just be a boring old run of the mill thunderstorm!) dinner: summer rolls with peanut dipping sauce 3 Quote
TheReader Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Hi All! Migraine is subsiding, so that is good. Had the hard conversation with DH, we're closer to agreement but still need to reach a decision. Need to: ...figure out my schedule for everybody's school everything ...actually ever fold the laundry ...plan for my classes for next week ...not to sure what else, likely some resting still w/the migraine 3 Quote

TheReader Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Missed a phone call from my mom; I have a feeling everyone isn't loving our choices on whether to help (or not) this relative that needs help. :sigh: It's all very sticky. Made a checklist for myself for how much my director's fees are supposed to be, so I can turn that in with my payments (and keep straight how much it is). Should get dressed, b/c my kids will be up soon and they also won't love braless mom. Emailed a mom about the reading for her dd, she thought she didn't have the right book. I'm pretty sure she does, so emailed her the answer/info. Try to think. I may need food, coffee, etc., first. post-migraine brain is very fuzzy. 4 Quote
TheReader Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Got K stuff sorted. Talked to mom, everyone's on board with the plan for the relative. 3 Quote

TheReader Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Got the 1st grade stuff done. Ate some food. Heading for a nap. thinking it is highly unlikely I'll get my act sufficiently together to be able to "tutor" the PreK kid from the summer (the friend's 4 yo granddaughter)....here it is noon and I'm only 2/3rds done (granted, headache, but still), and have not touched school with DS yet. Oof. I hate to have to tell her no, but we shall see. I have to prioritize my own kid and my actual job first. 3 Quote

I may need food, coffee, etc., first. post-migraine brain is very fuzzy. Bra wearing moms are overrated. I force myself to do so but am convinced I’d be wiser and happier without it.... even if I’d look like the old gal from Monster’s Inc. You definitely need both, I can’t imagine my non migraine brain without coffee in the AM. 😉 Today: Bible ✅ Table time ✅ Heart to heart with big kids about their autonomy this year ✅ And now I am going to attempt garage sales which might prove to be difficult, but darn it, I hate buying new for kids who spend four - five days a week at home! 4 Quote
SKL Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Howdy, happy Friday! Happy day to all of you who are feeling "TGIF." For me, Friday is freak-out day as I look at all the week's tasks that didn't get done! It's another weird day schedule wise. The calendar said cross country at 3:30 (they were going to check out the course for the first meet which is tomorrow a.m.), then soccer at 6pm. Today they changed cc to 6pm also, so it's a no go. Of course either or both might be cancelled due to the pouring rain, but we'll see. I also learned that the band teacher has added a full day of band camp, in uniform, on Monday, because the news wants to take a video. I think that's great, just, forget about planning anything. I called the chiropractor to see if my kid could get in for a visit re her ankle which keeps bothering her. No openings that would work for us until at least Tuesday. So the current plan is for her to run on the ankle as is tomorrow morning. Right now she is planning to drop cc anyway, in favor of soccer, but that could be complicated, so we'll go to the meet and see how it goes. At least that's the current plan! And there is a very loud construction project going on in my next door neighbor's driveway all day. Big machines and banging and bellowing. And my kids have been having a giggle fest. I have lots of work to send out in a very short time period, ugh, what's new. Could not really focus today with all the crazy. Wish I could get a brain transplant. Done - kid2 had horse riding, and I did a little bit of client work, yoga, school-related calendar work, and reading. To do - more client work, kid1 to soccer, dinner out, and whatever else gets done. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 (((hugs, Margaret)))) I finished the 2nd grade prep work. I remembered that my plan is, I'll do most of this while I'm sitting at school the 2 hrs DS is up there after my class finishes on Weds, but we didn't do that this week, because we thought we had a hurricane coming. So maybe I can work with the 4 yr old after all. (This is why I told them I need *at least* 2 weeks after school starts to figure it out). Now I need to figure out DS's schedule. What homework he has, how/if he can keep friday's off so they can still have a D&D day or not, what he has due, when, for which class, and how much of it he will need my/our help with vs that he can do on his own. And make.a.schedule. At least so it can look pretty on the fridge, right? 3 Quote

Thankful that the hurricane remnants have been just moderate rain here, no storms. No clue what is for dinner. Checking email and culling my inbox. Edited August 28, 2020 by ScoutTN 3 Quote
