mom31257 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) Good morning! Our church starts back regular midweek classes tonight. I'm helping in the children's department. Dh is teaching a class on the historic culture of the bible. Ds will have youth worship and teaching. The usuals are done. I need another cup of coffee before I set up the laptop for classes. coffee meals teach math classes laundry tidy house church look over chemistry labs for Friday watch Netflix (I'm currently watching three shows: Madam Secretary, Gilmore Girls, and Merlin. Weird combination, right? LOL!) Edited August 19, 2020 by mom31257 5 Quote
TheReader Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Amy, maybe I'll have to try Madame Secretary. We have watched the other two. Happy Wednesday! My list today: ...co-op orientation today -- my group is only 9:30 to 10:30, but then we're only allotted 30 mins after for "Meet the Teacher." As I have 22 students (20 families), and we're trying to social distance, and the hour long meeting is long for K, 1st, 2nd grade kiddos.....I offered to hang out all day if they want to come to the meeting and come back later with their kiddos. Several have jumped at that chance, so I'm taking my laptop and some stuff to work on, and will work on my room, and hang out all day. Ends at 3:00 (an hour break for lunch). ...probably take with me the shirts to return and do that on the way home. ...remember to buy myself a little mat to sit on in class, because I just realized that my pack of 10 means *I* don't have a seat if my class fills up (and K has 9 already, plus one joining in January). ...meal plan for the rest of this week and next so we can grocery shop tomorrow ...figure out a schedule for all the people with all the online classes, etc., etc., etc. ....figure out my schedule for class day, planning day, homeschool youngest, etc. ...laundry -- I DID manage to fold/hang up clothes from the dryer leftover from (last week sometime) *and* wash/dry a load last night, so today, fold those, wash the next load ...dinner tonight.....? maybe breakfast for dinner, or maybe I better cook something real, we shall see 5 Quote

mom31257 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Selkie, praying the migraine stays at bay! Reader, I've been very impressed with the show and it's quality! I am assigned to work with the K-2nd in small groups tonight at church. We have no idea what our numbers will be. Breakfast and lunch are done. Two math classes, down, two to go. A load of laundry is in the dryer. 4 1 Quote
SKL Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Hola, happy Wednesday! Done: Slept lots. Took out the garbage. Kids to cross country & band camp. Yoga & other mini exercises - set 1. Reviewed some legal stuff and sent replies. Stripped my bed & washed 2 loads of laundry. Caught up on emails, calendar, news, and social media. Working on coffee 2. To do: Lots of client work. Try again to log into the kids' school info and get their schedules. Finish the laundry & make my bed. Personal bills, returns, donations, and other stuff. Pick up the kids; decide whether to go to TKD tonight? Work with the kids to get set up on school technology, join specific classrooms on "Remind." Maybe get the kids started practicing typing and math? Walk. Whatever else gets done. 5 Quote
ScoutTN Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Hooray! Our dishwasher, which was leaking in February, is repaired and cleaned and back! We had put it out for the city services to pick up, but a neighbor asked for it. He got it working and said we can have it back. We'll pay him, of course. But WAY better than having to spend $600 to buy a new one! 5 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted August 19, 2020 Author Posted August 19, 2020 Juliet had me up between 4 and 5 am - rushing for the backdoor. After the last time she woke me I just had her sleep with me on my futon for easier door access. But she fortunately was fine by then. fed Neko and Juliet. (Juliet ate as normal.) fed myself medicated myself not medicating Juliet still. Will most likely call the vet in a bit for her anyway so will discuss the meds at her appt. I'm fuzzy from not enough sleep. Hmm. What's next? measured myself for a "Plateau Busting" Challenge that I'm doing on Sparkpeople. That was sure depressing. logged food, water, carbs updated my "Plateau Busting" log on Sparkpeople PT upper body workout showered and dressed made bed brushed teeth 5 Quote

TheReader Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Home. The A/C was out, so I am HOT and my brain is still recovering. It was 82 inside by the end of the day (and I was there for 6 hrs). Which I guess isn't horrible, but....somehow feels worse inside. Orientation went well, and the parents are fine with the changes for drop off/pick up, no lunch, etc. Everyone's very grateful for in person classes. I hope everyone stays healthy. DH already planned to just cook breakfast for dinner, which is our usual Weds thing, so that is a huge thank you. I did not take the stuff to return, but DH and I will do some running around tomorrow, so that will be fine. I have 30 days. The A/C guy was called out to the church, did come out and look, and I assume will return with whatever parts he needs, etc; our directors are in communication with the pastor of the church and will make sure it gets taken care of. I'll have fans just in case. I don't have a clue what else was on my list today....laundry? meal plan? I'll try to get to that as soon as my brain recovers/rehydrates. Probably a snack would be good too. 4 Quote
mom31257 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 I have Covid news. I went Saturday evening to get my hair cut by a friend. Her husband has tested positive. He started having symptoms on Sunday evening. I wore a mask the whole time, and she offered, but I didn't insist she wear it. (Banging my head over and over!) Honestly, they just came out of a quarantine, so I thought it would be fine. I wore mine because of dh being at school now. The husband has ulcerative colitis and his medicine makes him have a suppressed immune system. I wore it for him. I pray he is going to be okay with having it. He was home that evening but took their twin toddlers upstairs, so we only talked from a distance for a few minutes. Of course, she was right there with me, and we talked the whole time. She is getting tested tomorrow. So I am not going to church tonight nor to co-op Friday. By dh's school definitions, he doesn't have to quarantine unless I test positive. So we will see. Pray for their family and ours! 1 4 Quote

TheReader Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Talked to DH; he said for me to stop worrying about M/W dinners, he will take care of it so long as he's working from home still (which he should be doing indefinitely at this point, so...). Huge relief. Folded the laundry from yesterday, put away mine & DH's; the kids need to come claim theirs. Put a load in the wash, and now the dryer. Walked with DS19, who has begun daily/every other day walks for his mental & physical health. Just a short loop through the neighborhood, but it was nice to chat with him. Checked the mail on the way home, and DS22's apt complex sent his final statement post-move-out -- zero balance. Whew. DS15 is on church, the guys are video gaming, and I am going to veg out with a glass of wine and try not to fall asleep until closer to bedtime. 4 Quote
TheReader Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Oh, and I made a schedule for everyone with the times of "have to be online" classes, so it's all visible to everyone, who has what, when, so they can juggle who gets the computer room, etc. The 2 college boys are taking classes at assorted community colleges, universities, etc., and everything is all online and so it's a juggling act for sure. Only one, miraculously, overlaps someone else's, and that's temporary while DS15's History teacher is Zooming her class; she does, I think, plan to go in person at some point, maybe. But the college kids have laptops so can be in whatever room they need to, and they all have good gaming headsets so can use those as needed, and it should all work. The main thing is -- it's all typed up, and everyone got a copy. Now, off to find some TV and sip a glass of wine. 4 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted August 20, 2020 Author Posted August 20, 2020 washed, dried and put away dishes, knives and pans wiped down counters, stove and microwave one load in the washing machine walked with my neighbor and Juliet's puppy bff. Juliet seems to be doing just fine today. just setting up with online Bible study. Other people are talking ahead of the class and I'm just lurking. 3 Quote
SKL Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Well, I succeeded in doing my "yoga etc." routine 3x today, in addition to walking 3+ miles. I think that's a first. I hope it can become a habit. Finished the laundry that was in process, folded & put away. Sent an email about getting a replacement for my kid's band shoes. Did a bit more reading than usual. Processed and filed a bunch of personal & work emails. Didn't accomplish much client work, but hey, it's only 10pm .... 4 Quote
