TheReader Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) "feels a bit like fall" -- so jealous!! (no lie, my favorite weather guy posted 'Welcome to Houston, where we celebrate a cold front cooling things down into the 90s!") Ahem. My day today: ...go clothes shopping for school, except....can we try things on yet??? Make returns if things don't fit?? ...mail a book back to Amazon b/c I ordered the full Singapore Level 2 and the seller sent ONE of the 4 books (and won't just do a partial refund) ...stop at the grocery store and get the kids' D&D food/drinks ...be home in time for my oldest's teletherapy appt in case she will actually talk to us; he's actually doing gobs better since we called and said "hey, he's not doing hot" so will update her on that if she asks us ...lunch is probably on me, b/c DH is doing his work outings this morning ...nap? ...sew? ...laundry?....dinner? Think of something Okay, heading out so I have plenty of time to do all the "out" things and get back on time. Happy Tuesday! Edited August 19, 2020 by TheReader 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) Good morning! Rough start here bc DS didn't have his homework done and school things organized. Dropping him off now. Later: Dd to tutorial? ✅ Tag clothes, ✅ drop at the consignment sale. ✅ If time, drop thrift shop stuff. Lesson prep, then tutor two students after school. ✅ Make dinner early - chx chili and salad ✅ CSA box. Dh got it. Edited August 19, 2020 by ScoutTN 3 Quote
SKL Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Howdy, happy Tuesday! So yesterday was a reporting deadline day, and due to my usual poor time management skills, it spilled into early morning. (Most of the banks we report to are on later time zones.) Then I remembered I hadn't done my walking, so I did that from 2-3am. Then I played on the computer to relax / reward myself for getting work out. Went to bed about 5, first alarm rang at 6:30. Should probably attempt a nap .... This morning I heard of 2 people I know dying. One was a well-loved guy in my parents' town, who used to be my neighbor. The other was a fellow adoptive mom whose kid is a little younger than my kids. She suddenly died of a heart attack. That freaks me out. Neither was a close person to me, but it still hits home. Done: A pile of client reports sent out. Yesterday's walking in the wee hours. Woke up later than I should have. Photographed kids' newly acquired band music to send to trumpet teacher. Did a half-a$$ed job of getting the kids off to band camp. They were a couple minutes late & had yogurt in the car for breakfast. Nobody will die from it. Fed the bird. Partially cleaned out my car. Went around the house turning off lights, for the 9,000th time. (Figured I might as well take credit for it since it's cumulatively taking months off of my life.) Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media. Working on coffee 1. To do: A work report that I promised last night (not really a deadline, but a halfa$$ed commitment). Lots of other client work. Email or text music to kid's trumpet teacher. Make an appointment to pick up kids' Chromebooks. Yoga. A little reading. A little housework. Figure out how to use the kids' school passwords & access whatever I can access online re schedule etc. Sign up to kids' biology teacher's Remind group. Returns, bills, donations, and various other small personal tasks. Process the clothes in & on the dryer, maybe wash 1 load of laundry? Pick up kids from band camp at 3pm. Kids' music lesson at 4pm. Some quick food. Kid's soccer practice at 6pm. Should make the kids start math practice tonight. Walk. Whatever else gets done. 4 Quote
TheReader Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Hugs, SKL, on the losses; I'm sure it's not easy to process even if they weren't close friends. 4 1 Quote
TheReader Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Oh, and we have ALL half-a$$ed kid drop off at some point or another; at least you remembered yogurt for the car. Good job! 5 Quote
TheReader Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Home from my errands. So much for heading out early.... Kohl's - closed; opens at 10:00 (but I had to be home by 11:00) Target -- 8:00 to 9:00 is "vulnerable population hour" on Tues/Weds JCPenney -- closed; doesn't open until 11:00 right now Went to HEB for the kids' D&D groceries, then back to Target to check for some nice slacks (none), but found 4 shirts that will work for school. No trying on, yes taking returns. Upon trying on at home, 2 are for sure keepers and 2 are maybe/probably keepers. I'll hit Kohl's and JCPenney later today or later this week and then will decide based on what else I find there. Forgot to print the label to mail the book back, but they were closed too, so didn't matter. Home now, doing school work/prep. DH may or may not be home in time for lunch. 4 Quote
TravelingChris Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 So far, I have gone to OT reevaluation- though I had the therapist look up and see that I actually need more OT that hasn't been addressed plus my hands need more too, apparently, Then I replanted the last of the donation plants into the last window box. Need to do more watering. I also called in the request for a refill. I haven't heard from car people yet--- I really want the diagnostic done because my car is in the Subaru shop for axle holder replacement or something like that tomorrow all day and I really need to find out what is wrong with A/c, defogger, heater, etc. and get it fixed before we leave next Saturday. I was overheating on the trial run day trip two Sundays ago and that was nothing like the sunny hot plains will be. Continue with planning install finder decals that just came in the mail try feminine urinal system Neurologist appointment mail ballots at Post Office pick up car drop off car at Subaru 4 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Hi. It looks like dh has some "catching up work" scheduled for today so I'm off the hook for "vacation". logged fasting bloodsugars. fed Neko and Juliet fed myself medicated myself still not medicating Juliet but I'm noting it here because it reminds me to look to see if she's scratching or chewing on her feet. logged food, water, carbs updated Sparkpeople sleep log PT - lower body exercises made bed dressed brushed teeth 4 Quote
TheReader Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Had DS's appt with teletherapy; that went well (except, DH wasn't here, and when I gave him the report, he thinks DS is not doing as much better as I thought/said. Oops). She says he can go 2 months before the next appt! My stepmom called; that was a nice, but frustrating (the fires in CO knocked out a cell tower, so her call kept dropping) call. Nice chat, though. DH is home, sandwiches for lunch. I will probably go back out shopping this afternoon (and mail the book). 4 Quote

TheReader Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 After lunch/nap, I packaged up the book and went out to repeat the errands. Dropped off the book to return; here's hoping the seller comes through with the refund. So annoying. Picked up DS's meds, and stuff to go with dinner. Turns out, it's national fajita day or something, so chicken fajitas. Picked up flour for tortillas, and premade guacamole. We already had the preseasoned pack of fajita meat. Yum. Stopped at Kohl's -- no shirts, but found 2 pair of dress slacks for school. Since I have classes 2x/week this year, and will be coming home tossing the germy clothes into the wash, I needed more (cannot wear jeans to school). Stopped at JCPenney's, found 4 shirts. (or 5?) Came home, retried on everything (4 shirts from Target, 4 from JCPenney, 2 pants) -- keeping the 2 pants (thank goodness), 2 of the Target shirts, 3 of the JCPenney shirts (one is a comfy for at home shirt, for with my leggings). So that's pretty good, I think, and now I'm set. DH is cooking, I did the dishes (put away clean, loaded dishwasher) and will check the status of laundry at some point before I get too far behind again. 4 Quote
