Rats! No cream for my coffee. Might need to zip out quickly. Made tea instead of coffee.

After coffee and some bacon, I will attempt to get to these things:

  • laundry
  • AHG things
  • Figure out the Grandpad
  • Walk!
  • CSA box
  • Dinner is pork chops and veggies from the box. Nope, dinner is whatever you can find in the fridge! Plenty of leftovers!

Will you guys pray for dh and us for protection from the virus as well as all those at his school?

He teaches in a rural county with lots of areas people can't get internet. His school starts in person classes tomorrow with the option for virtual. He has 90 students enrolled in his classes this semester, and only 12 are doing virtual. He will have 29 in person students in one class. He has created a bit of a teaching bubble for himself to distance from the students, but it is probably useless.

The school only has one sub willing to work for the whole school, so dh thinks they could go virtual at anytime for lack of teachers if many get sick and are out.

A local school system lost so many bus drivers but wants in person, so they have shortened the school day for all the younger grades and have staggered times to come in and go home.

It's just a mess.

Made the grade recording sheets (some of the parents want this) (and I can use the same template to keep track of DS15's grades now that he is high school and this year goes on his transcript....)

Printed the master lesson plan sheets, and discovered/realized, I never actually put the 2nd grade language arts in the computer??? I thought I had but....?? Need to track that down. Drat.

Emailed a fellow co-op teacher about face shields. I keep waffling on buying a different kind for myself; a friend posted a photo of a very kid-friendly design, easier on, and so  much taller/longer (but flares out more at the bottom). I'm debating. I already spent $30 on a 2-pack (plus shipping), and I do like mine.......but taller/longer/better coverage seems like such a good idea. :sigh:

Meal planning, grocery shopping, and working on the weekly break-down lesson plans up next.

made the meal plan and the grocery list, and decided I'd rather my mom on Friday than Thursday, I think, so I have "decompress alone" after already on the schedule. Now waiting on DH to be done with calls so we can grocery shop (will eat a snack/breakfasty thing and work on forms in the meantime)

Got done with my morning list with ten minutes to spare. I like this plan and hope I can keep it up.

Touched base with the vet about Thor. After six weeks of tummy troubles, he is now doing so much better. Woo hoo! The key was switching him to a prescription hydrolyzed protein diet. We are going to skip the course of prednisone we had planned on since he is doing so well.

Finalized plans for the car I'm buying - very exciting! Dh's truck is getting towed today.

Plan B for the day.  I realized as I packed up more books to take to homeschool consignment that I actually have a bunch of course descriptions to write.  I need the books to help me write the descriptions.

Wrote out a checklist of the next four descriptions that need to be written.  Starting on the first of those now.

Made the meal plan.

Grocery shopped.

Got started on the weekly checklist for K.

Watched a video that DS22's best friend from college made, seeking partners to fund his calling to be a full time minister on his college campus (translation: stay in college town and do outreach, but needs living expenses). Quandry, b/c this is very NOT the type of thing we normally give to, at all. BUT, this kid is probably solely responsible for the fact our DS wasn't even worse than he was last year, and we really like him. And he actually really has been/really will minister on campus. So, we'll see. We may give a one time gift.

DH has a conference call, so no nap, so getting back to work.

EMG was super painful this time but got it done.  Also did a little CVS trip (Milk Duds were 3 for 3 dollars and when I got there I found that Lindt 70% dark chocolate was also on sale but the great thing is I scored a large Dawn detergent-- that one has been flying off the shelves here and we normally by a very large and just refill.  Also got us a lunch from a German restaurant so no big dinner tonight- just what we would normally have for dinner.

Made diagnostic sort of appt for my car- I drop it off tomorrow and they fit it in either tomorrow or Thursday.

Rescued green tree frog from my house

Filled my weekly medicine pill organizer

Still to do

replant plants

order shoes

order underwear

order trial car waste system

start watching seasons 3-5 of Endeavor with dh

laundry

Finished through week 12 of K plans; realized that's the spot at which we stop for online for Thanksgiving break, so stopping there

Am done through Week 10 of 1st grade plans, but time to leave to go to the teacher appreciation thing

As I have "weekly sheets" down tomorrow also, and nothing to do tomorrow but that, this leaves me in good shape actually, so I feel ok stopping there for now.

Heading to the appreciation thing, then home, dinner, TV, maybe sew.

All you people showing off and actually doing the laundry 😉

I did finish through week 12 on the 1st grade list.

Handled a phone call from a neighbor seeking advice on something.

Went to the drive-thru appreciation event -- y'all. We are feeling more and more like switching over to this church once we return in person one day. They had cheer leaders from various local schools out, in socially distanced groups, cheering on the teachers/educators driving through. Regular folks, with pom poms and "#1" foam fingers. Cheering. Waving. Flags. Banners. On both sides of the big wide drive way. (all wearing masks, and socially distanced)

Then, a goody bag handed in through the car window. Y'all. A handwritten note. A journal. A mask that says "Essential - Teacher" on it in a cute script/circle. An invite to an educator's only themed online small group starting up in September. I can't even, y'all. The notes were all generic, and I don't know if they wrote the same thing in each one or different things, but one line made me cry: thank you for all of the time you spend preparing for your classroom (or something along those lines). I am so glad they let me come. ❤️

Got home, had an order arrive from Amazon....only, it's only part of the order. Which is maybe fine, depending. So emailed/contacted the seller to find out. Sigh. Hopefully the other books are on the way separately or something. I really don't want to track them down elsewhere.

Going to cook dinner, feed the people, and then hang out with the family. Probably I will get to laundry tomorrow.

We also had to get a black racer snake out of our garage.

Did order underwear but the company I am trying to order shoes from have not replied to my email and I just noticed their customer service is only from 7am to 2pm in my time (8-3ET)  so need to call tomorrow morning and get their size info so I can place my order.

Also ordered the travel bathroom things we need.

Ate the light dinner.

Trying not to fall asleep.

Quick grocery run.

Took an extra watermelon from our box to a friend. We get more than we can eat sometimes!

Did a quick, outdoor, back-to-school event for Dd's tutorial. Read through her American Lit syllabus.

Snack

Next up: a podcast
