goldenecho
So, my son is studying ancient history again this year (he's 12). I love the two books by Patricia St. John we've read (Treasures of the Snow and Star of Light). I know she wrote quite a few books set in ancient times too, but I haven't read any of those. My son isn't the type that loves to read a ton of books, but I'd like to read at least one of her books set in ancient times with him this year. If you we could only read one or two, which ones would you suggest? (Editing to add that my son really liked Star of Light but didn't get into Treasures of the Snow as much). hollyhock2
Either The Runaway or Twice Freed. The Runaway is out of print, I believe, but I think it's a better fit for a 12yo. Twice Freed has more mature themes in places, as far as I remember. I adore Patricia St. John's books.
