Zoom medical appointments. Can you have more than 2 people on the line?

We have done lots of telemed phone appointments with 3 or 4 people in different locations connected. DD21 has a zoom call Thursday with a new doctor, and I am not sure if more than two people (at different locations) can be on a Zoom doctor visit. Normal Zoom, yes. Just not sure about a medical visit. I usually sit in on all of her appointments because her history is so complex and her first migraines were at 6yo. Any experience with this?

Does she want you to be there?  If so, she should let them know in advance so they can help figure out the best way to include you.  If their telemed method doesn't work for that, maybe she could call you on her cell phone and put you on speaker.  I know someone who sits in on an elderly parent's medical visits that way.

Certainly call ahead and ask.  Are you a great distance from her?  I drive 45 minutes to my daughter's apartment to join in with her telemed appointments.

Is it a zoom call....as in actual zoom....or is it a video chat appointment that might use another platform?  I didn't know if zoom was secure enough to meet HIPPA standards.

None of my telemed visits have been with zoom.  I have had visits with counselor, ortho pain physician, sleep medicine PA, rheumatologist, pulmonologist, and psychiatrist.  Will be having one with neurologist this month.  Many of them actually just call but others use a different service for video chats-it isn't go to meeting, zoom or google meet.  Since I have had two doctors use it but no one else, I think there is a special one for physician.

During the pandemic the government waived a lot of the regulations regarding Telehealth and Zoom now meets their standards. In my little corner of the health world (ABA) there is no limit to the number of people on a call, I simply have to document who was there and their relations ship to the patient in my chart note. A parent attending a child's call would be a nonissue. Hope this helps.

I've had back to back Zoom appointments with siblings we've done on one call with the same physician. The particular software our hospital system uses, though, pops up the Zoom call directly within its window.....I couldn't easily identify the Zoom room number, or even if there is a passcode.  I think it's possible, but I don't know that it would be easy to do on the fly.
