What is the newest, smartest way to do stuff with digital pictures on our phones?

Time and tech left me behind and I have a mess. Has anything brilliant and fast come out? I'm on an iphone,but literally I'm not backed up to icloud for photos and don't have them DOING anything. Books, sorting by person/face/tag, I don't know.

Anything new, great, etc. I should try?

Adding: I'm not averse to Lightroom mobile, etc. I don't know what my issue is. I download stuff, think I'm going to do it, and don't. Something simpler? Something that doesn't require wifi to operate? That's a lot of the problem. I need to sort minus wifi.
