madteaparty Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 My little nephew fractured his arm while hiking here this weekend, there’s also nerve damage that requires surgery. His right arm will be in a cast and then another cast and PT for a long while. I’m trying to think ideas for an amazon care package to send. Do you have any for me? Typical active boy 😞many thanks Quote
Pen Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 He will need to use other arm for quite awhile. Figurine toys like superheroes or families or animals or whatever he likes, big blocks (maybe even Jenga small blocks or marble runs), big piece puzzles, logic puzzles like mastermind or Rush Hour, games like Wonder Chess, should all be possible one handed. audiobooks can be enjoyed hands free 1 Quote
PeterPan Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 harmonica? My arm is laid up for a month and i miss being able to make music. Joke books to distract him. some of those building panels with magnets would work great. He probaly likes to build and they won't tumble. stuffed animals are always good. my ds likes tied fleece blankets Quote
katilac Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 If you have Amazon Prime, consider sending several smaller items rather than one big care package. Getting it is half the fun! Color Wonder books Action figures Sticker books Gift cards for Dairy Queen, Baskin Robbins If he uses Steam or such to play games, a gift card for that is good Candy, snacks, treats are always a big hit My dd broker her arm right about that age, with severe dislocation that required surgery and pins. It was awful and she had a lot of pain right after surgery, but it really didn't slow her down for long. I have pictures of her hanging upside down on the monkey bars with her cast on, lol. Quote
