Does your dog like mirrors?

Our dog likes to look at herself in the mirror.  Does yours do that?

My dog seems shy of her reflection in the mirror. She will glance at it and look away.

If she sees her reflection in a window, she sometimes gets upset and barks at "the other dog." 🙂

Dogs are thought to usually fail the "mirror test": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_test. That does not of course mean they don't have self-awareness--they obviously do--but perhaps they just don't understand mirrors fully. 🙂

My dog doesn't care about mirrors.  She has however taken a long time to understand "actor dogs" on tv. who bark etc.  But now she finally doesn't bark back.

Neither of ours seems to care much about their reflection in a mirror. I had a dog a long time ago who would go absolutely ballistic when she saw herself.

Nope, totally cluless. I show him himself in the mirror after his baths/blowdry and he doesnt seem to care.

My dd's dog (who's here a lot) occasionally passes the one mirror that's at his level.  When he catches his reflection in it, he always stops and sits down for awhile directly in front of it and stares at it very curiously.  After a minute or two, he'll get up and walk away.  He does that every time.

No, but our cats do. It's funny when they try to look behind my tall, stand up mirror for the kitty in the mirror. When the kittens were younger, they'd puff up in anticipation of taking on that strange mirror kitten.
