SKL Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 (edited) Howdy! Happy Sunday! I slept at least 12 hours over night. Must have needed it. I have made some good progress on my to-do's over the past week or so. Still lots to do, but it feels a little less oppressive to think about it. Though I am stressing about some upcoming work conference calls. Done today: Yoga. A tiny bit of housework. Some calendar work & other minor personal stuff. Had a work discussion. Caught up on emails, news, social media. Coffee 1 done, about to go get coffee 2. To do: Lots of client work. Email to trumpet teacher. Print music so the kids can practice for marching band etc. Make them practice. Clean the house. Hoping to clean out the coat/shoe closet and purge whatever is too small. Probably 2 loads of laundry? TKD practice, walking, maybe a tiny bit of running if it doesn't hurt. (I hurt myself yesterday.) Catch up on online church services. Hopefully do some book related work with the kids. A little personal reading. A few other personal things. Whatever else gets done. Edited July 19, 2020 by SKL 2 Quote

BlsdMama Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 We missed church this AM. I don't know why I was thinking 9:30 instead of 9. DD got up and went (we haven't physically been there in weeks and she is not thrilled with the online option) and didn't wake anyone and we didn't set alarms this AM?? So odd for us. Coffee Agricola Clean up kitchen Drop DS off for fishing DH taking back some extra stuff to Menards Water plants and new grass Relax all afternoon Take dinner to my parents and return some of their tables Come home and go to bed early-ish I love Sundays. We've been trying intentionally to scale back and have Sundays be a day for worship and rest and just being rather than doing. Oddly, it's something we find very difficult. 2 Quote
Selkie Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Good afternoon! It was an eventful morning, so I'm late getting my tackle list together. Sometime during the night, Smokey (horse) rubbed his eye on something (the fence?) and tore his eyelid, leaving a gaping wound and the eyelid partially hanging down and obscuring his vision. So I was on the phone to the vet right away, and she came out and stitched him up, which was a bit of an ordeal. He was fighting the sedative and didn't want to hold still. All's well now - it's sewn up all pretty (well, prettier than it was) and he got antibiotics, an anti inflammatory, and is wearing a mask with goggles to protect the eye while it heals. water plants fill hummingbird feeder plan my week laundry - wash blankets put away clean laundry do a little cleaning, maybe - house is a mess think about a few work things dinner: leftovers/make-your-own 1 Quote
SKL Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 I have completed a variety of small tasks so far, that aren't really worth mentioning. While small, they have helped me to reduce my physical pile of "do me soon" items to a very thin stack, while clearing a bunch of personal emails. Now seems to be a good time to make a master list of things I need to do over more than just one day. Personal: Compile tax info for the CPA to complete my tax returns & so I can clear a lot of crap out of my email inbox. Find a new home for my old tax records going back to 2007. Also a little organizing & find a new home for the records from a business we co-invested in before my mom got cancer. Make donations to 2 foreign charities before upcoming deadlines. Kid1 starts cross country July 20 ... 5 days a week ... need to get into a good rhythm with this. Make and accomplish kids' eye and dental appointments. Accomplish already scheduled chiro appointments. Car maintenance is past due ... appointment set for July 22. Some additional updates re my new credit card / automatic payments. Get a haircut. Finish final steps of transition from old to new computer. Setup and follow daily backup for computer. Fix the problem with my ridiculously slow internet. Get kids' bike maintenance up to date / make them learn how to do this and keep it up. Should also install bike rack on my car. Finish construction / landscaping projects that are underway; clear away all the mess. Get my personal dental stuff up to date. Start & complete revised Invisalign stuff. Kids' Confirmation is August 1 ... practice is July 28. My personal next 2 belt tests ... hoping for black belt on August 8 if they let me test. Continue to organize, communicate, and accomplish kids' August 9 grad party. Band camp starts August 3, 5 full days a week ... kids need to pre-practice music and get into a good rhythm. Need to fill forms, pay fees, have uniforms ready. Professional development: renew membership, schedule and attend a lot of classes. I'm pretty sure my law CLE deadline (24 hours) is 12/2020 and CPE (120 hours) is 12/2021. Purge kids' outgrown stuff and get their rooms / areas organized for the new school year. Buy any new clothes that may be needed for the school year. Organize school supplies and buy any that may be needed for the new school year. Go through the kid books / workbooks I have in my room and prioritize, use, re-home, purge, whatever as appropriate. Make a schedule and get started on math review, decide on language arts review and do that, study skills stuff, read-alouds, table games/puzzles with the kids, etc. AHG stuff - finish the badges we're going to finish, get cross-over accomplished, and find a new home for the materials. See if there is any way for Kid2 to get her level award before officially dropping out. Clean out my closet, dressers, bookcases, under my bed. Sell, donate, or throw out merchandise from old defunct wholesale/retail businesses we used to have. Go through my books in the basement and organize / re-home / purge as appropriate. Work: I think I'll wait on this list! Basically complete the many reports due in July and August, get ahead on accounting and invoicing for stuff that is predictable, get caught up on filing etc., catch up on all the reading for law changes re Covid etc., send letters to resolve old tax issues, and the various other things that keep coming up. 2 Quote
SKL Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 I finished most of the items on my to-do list for today (no client work yet though), and the second item on my longer-term list. Nice to have a few fairly big jobs out of the way, but sadly there is little visual evidence of these accomplishments ... unless you count the 4 bags of garbage and 1 box of hand-me-downs that got cleared out. Finished all the laundry, except my kid refused to take off her dirty shirt for me to wash. Now she wants to wear that same shirt to run in tomorrow. Um, no .... 1 Quote
