My Iphone 6 yesterday had a "nervous breakdown" while I was using FaceTime and now I cannot get it to connect to my home wifi.

I have rebooted it and reset network settings, but still the wifi button in greyed out.

Any thoughts or assistance please.

Thanks!

Probably not likely, but the first thing that popped in my mind is -- Did airplane mode get turned on somehow? I think that would prevent it from connecting to your home wifi.

Is your wifi working for all other devices?  Airplane mode is off?

If your WiFi is working OK for other devices, phones, Laptops, etc., the issue is probably within your iPhone. We have Androids so I don't know the exact steps you will need to take with your iPhone, but it will be about the same and hopefully this is generic enough to possibly provide some ideas to you.

The first thing I would do is go to the general area where the most important settings are located. WiFi on or off, Airplane mode on or off, etc. Be sure Wi Fi is turned on.

If WiFi is turned on in those general settings, then, I would go to the WiFi configuration settings.  I would DELETE the current WiFi connection and then I would CREATE a new WiFi connection.

Hopefully that will solve your issue. The chance of it being a Hardware issue in your phone is a possibility, but probably extremely unlikely.

ETA: After configuring and saving a new WiFi connection, I would Reboot the phone
