If you were going to repaint an office for someone who did a lot of videoconferencing, would you take into account the person's skin tone and hair color?  Or would you just paint it a neutral color that looked okay with the furniture?

I would take lighting into account, particularly the colour of the light, and how that will play off the walls and onto the person. I would consider what colour tone their clothes are (autumn vs spring, for example), to make sure the walls are the right tone. Then I would think about making sure there’s enough contrast.

I would spend time/money on lighting, and ensuring the colour and shading are flattering.

Sure! When I do video chats, I go to a certain room in my house and make sure to stage the background. I also shift a stand alone mirror, to offer some natural reflected light. LOL

After watching so many video conferences, I seriously want to go help set up some peoples home offices. LOL It astounds me how many people have cardboard boxes of random things sitting around the room. Or pictures sitting on the floor. They probably don't even notice, but the people watching them sure do.

Yes, my office is Ben Moore Shadow, and I looked great on zoom, if I may say so. I had a dimmed light behind me to one side, and the desk light aimed as the key light. I contrasted nicely with the background, and the lighting was complimentary.

I love Dolphin's Cove and think it's absolutely perfect for this — it's pretty but also professional looking, and would be super flattering to gray hair and light skin with pink undertones. Gorgeous!
