TheReader Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Home from tutoring; things went pretty well today. The 4 yr old and I are getting into a fair routine that gets the "academics" done and the fun stuff, with less distractability as we settle into the routine. Tuesdays of course are worse than Thursdays, but, she's four. I let Grandma & GiGi know that the "schedule" I made at the start was perhaps overly optimistic and we may tweak it. They said no problem. Started laundry. I'm less behind on that than I thought I was. Had an email from a neighbor asking about my classes; sent out the info. Had an email from a possible student/parent, asking some Covid questions; answered that email. DH is off doing work things, so I'm in charge of lunch. 3 Quote

SKL Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Overslept. It seems my new phone's "snooze" is like an hour long or doesn't work at all. I can't find a way to adjust it. Well, I needed the sleep anyhow. Kid2 to horse riding and back. Worked on scheduling / arranging some activities for my kids. Sent out some client work. Put away dishes & groceries. Fed the bird. A little reading. 2 coffees so far. To do: Lots more client work. Prepare for kids' confirmation questioning / participate in it, I think it's at 6pm and I am so not ready. It will be a zoom, so we should look decent .... Make the kids practice music, clean up, shower etc. Yoga, walking, TKD practice. Pay bills. Figure out dinner & clean up after it. Whatever else gets done. 4 Quote
TheReader Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Made/fed the kids lunch. Moved laundry 1 to the dryer, put laundry 2 in the washer. Brought groceries in from DH's car when he got home. Planned a dairy-free dinner, as DS19 is having issues and wants to try a dairy-free trial to see if it helps. Took the meat out, it's thawing in the sink in water. Dumped DH's bin of compost stuff into the compost thing he has outside. Yuck. Emptied & reloaded the dishwasher. Sent DS19 over to tend the neighbor's dogs/menagerie. Naptime. 3 Quote
Selkie Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 On load 3 or 4 of laundry - I've lost track Cleaned the kitchen Cleaned the fridge & restocked beverages Sliced up oranges & mangos Restocked paper products Filled dog food bins Did horse chores and swept out the shed Tried to place a Walmart order, but several things were out of stock - gave up & ordered from Amazon instead Made a vet appt. for next Friday - that's the earliest I could get for a checkup because they are so booked Keeping an eye on the weather - it's graying up and I need to run out and close the sheds if it starts raining 3 Quote

ScoutTN Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) Have a headache. No fever, O2 is 99. Drank water, took ibuprofen, resting. Next up: Drop ds at flag flootball game. Dh will meet us there and bring ds home. ✅ Get veggie box. ✅ Snack supper and go to bed early. Edited July 7, 2020 by ScoutTN 2 Quote
Selkie Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Scout, I hope your headache is just a garden variety one and goes away soon! I got a lot done today, but hardly any office work. Oh well. Still plugging away at the laundry. With this heatwave, everyone's been changing clothes multiple times a day after working outside, so lots of extra loads. Did some kitchen things - made a quadruple batch of hummus, cut up veggies, made a pitcher of hibiscus tea. Opened UPS boxes - office supplies, mostly. Did some decluttering of the stuff piled on the dining room hutch. Dusted the main floor. Ordered hay. Ordered beans from Rancho Gordo. Fed the horses. We were just about to give them their nightly showers when it started thundering. The wind has picked up, but no raindrops yet. 1 1 Quote
SKL Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 The kids and I survived the Confirmation questioning. Now we have to decide whether or not to participate in drive-through Communion or just wait until the Confirmation ceremony. Their Confirmation verses (chosen by the church folks who know them) are: Miss A: Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Miss E: Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." The Miss A verse is one of my all-time favorites. 🙂 That reminds me - I need to order special Bibles for them before their Confirmation ceremony.... 3 Quote
