happi duck Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Does anyone have a link to the original tEa thread? It was asked about on my other thread: 1 Quote
PeterPan Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 (edited) Google is saying it at least goes back to 2011. Don't know how much farther than that as I haven't always frequented Chat. The original thread is gone Edited June 29, 2020 by PeterPan Quote
PeterPan Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Remember, you can find almost anything with a google site search. Go to your google bar and type your terms plus site:welltrainedmind.com Quote
TracyP Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Did it start with the ambien story? I can't find that. Which stinks, cuz whether or not that was the origin that was hilarious. 1 Quote
KidsHappen Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 The original thread was titled, "What the world needs now (Warning OT & Intimate content). . ." I had it bookmarked but when I tried to pull it up I got a 404 error. I did try a google search but had no luck. Perhaps someone with better search skills would have better luck. It did not start with an Ambien story. OP was Doran. 3 Quote
KidsHappen Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Just now, kand said: If you give me the link from your bookmark, I can look and see if The way back machine has it. I was just going suggest someone try that. The link is: https://welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55527 . I hope you can find it. It was quite entertaining and I am sure many here could use the amusement. 1 Quote

The OP was looking for ways to spice up her homeschool parent/teacher conferences if you take my meaning. Someone brought up that electric devices could speed things up and then someone liken that to a tap in their house that provided instant hot water for a quick cup of tEA. That is the basic gist but it was a 15 page, I think, conversation that covered many aspects of the subject. 3 Quote
Jann in TX Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 DH and I still giggle about the Ambien (carpet removal) story! 3 Quote

It had to do with carpet removal in a bathtub-- the adhesive was a bit too strong... told by a master story teller-- I hope someone can find a link that works! Quote

Then we had other people linking to other hilarious Amazon reviews. That was a fun thread. 1 Quote

Corraleno Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I think the Ambien carpet removal story that originated here on the board was about shaving, and the waxing/stuck to the bathtub story was an older story that originated elsewhere but was linked here. Here's a version of the bathtub story from 2005: http://tinajay.blogspot.com/2005/09/waxing-funniest-story-ever.html 2 Quote

Kalanamak and I pm'd a few times. She was a really wise woman. When she died I made compilation of her posts and sent it to a person who knew her irl to give to her son. Unfortunately I don't know who that was any more. I came across the file just this week in an old external hard drive and I've often wondered how things are with "Hubby" and "Kiddo". Her son would be around 17/18 now. 1 6 Quote
Guest Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 The carpet removal one I remember was later than the original waxing one. I think the OP was named Sun and she said she was thinking of going to “full carpet removal” for her “Tea-room”. That was another thread abounding in euphemisms. 3 Quote

dirty ethel rackham Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Ok, this trip down memory lane has brought up a dilemma. For all you crunchy moms out there ... have you figured out what to do with that placenta in your deep freeze? Embarrassed to admit that, 20 years later, I still don't know what to do with it. No room in my yard for a new tree. We have a dog who would dig it up. 1 Quote

It's made a little sad... 1 Quote
