TheReader Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Good morning! We're in a flash flood warning, though it seems to be mostly north of my side of town. I head out in an hour to tutor, and will likely take DS's car just in case (he has an SUV, vs. my very low minivan; the route from here to there should be fine either way, but just in case....). so, today: ...coffee ...go tutor ...laundry ...maybe go with DH to visit a coworker...? ...sew some stuff ...lunch: ??? ...dinner: DH is making ribs with our cherry bbq sauce ...tonight: TV night, or else board games, or ??? 4 Quote
TheReader Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Home from tutoring the 4 yr old. The grown-ups want to extend our time to 1.5 hrs/day, twice a week, as she's doing well with it, stays engaged, loves learning, etc. She is, she does, and that's fine by me. She's an absolute doll, is an eager learner, and we are having fun. Adding in a little extra activity to each session won't take much more prep work, and the extra cash will certainly be nice. DH has ribs in the oven for dinner, and is making lunch now. Started some laundry. The rain has past, no flooding on our part of town. 4 Quote

DH didn't visit the coworker (he has to pick up a sample to take to a customer), so I didn't go with him. But I did: Tutor Put away my tutoring stuff Start a load of laundry, fold the load that was waiting, including put back into the dryer the still-wet stuff DH had taken out and left atop the dryer (sigh) Which means now I'm still waiting on the dryer to finish so I can fold those and swap over the stuff I washed Sewed some on the hand sewing I need to do DH made lunch ("just" sandwiches) Dinner is in the oven, and not time yet for me to cook the squash I also: ..texted a friend about coming over (the family for whom we are dog-sitting; she & the kids are stopping by tomorrow to visit the dog) (and me,since I live here too 😉 ) ...texted 2 other friends just to say hi, check in, "miss you, wish we could have coffee" etc. ...texted my mom, who stayed with our dogs while we were gone, but had a UTI; she's improving ...helped DH/DS fill out the data info part of DS's application to readmit to university; DS has to think whether for fall or spring, and write an essay before submitting ...tidied the downstairs of the house, b/c we've had too much rain to hang out outside tomorrow when the family comes over (yard is soggy) ...looked up more resources to educate myself on race issues in our country ...found out that I won a prize from my friend that sells the MK; she was doing a drawing after every $300 in orders (she's aiming for a year-end goal), and I won the drawing; yay! Going to have a small snack and work more on the hand sewing thing, plus create a post card to send a friend for her "month of happy mail" for her bday; I've only got 5 days left.....ack! 4 Quote

ScoutTN Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Student cancelled last minute, but I get paid anyway. Some deskwork done, but less than I had planned. Hanging out at the pool with ds and some friends. Got dinner here too, so no cooking. So relaxing in the evening - warm not hot, lights on in the pool, not at all crowded. Headed home soon. 3 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted June 26, 2020 Author Posted June 26, 2020 Bunny cage and it's perimeter done Tried to go to Petco as part of the bunny cage clean, but they closed right before I got there. Fortunately Target had what I needed - not the best brand but it will work. Washed, dried and put away dishes, knives and pans. 2 Quote
