cintinative Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 (edited) If you used the videos, do you know about how much time it takes to do the drawing associated with the video? I have the video times for each but I don't know if we can finish the drawing in that time. I assume it will take us longer than it takes her on the video. Should I assume about twice the time? Or less? Thanks in advance for your help! Edited June 24, 2020 by cintinative Quote
LJPPKGFGSC Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 I think twice the time - or more. Some of the maps are hard! But if you get through it, they are wonderful documents to keep for a very long time. 2 Quote
EmilyGF Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 We didn't use it precisely as written, but spent about 10-15 minutes on a map at a time. Then, the next time, we'd start the map from the beginning and get farther in those 10-15 minutes. During our final map drawing, dd11 would find places on the atlas that she had studied and found interesting and then add them to the original map, individualizing it to herself. It was good that we started with Spain before we moved onto Greece. Then, when we did the Nile, we started with the map provided, but over time she ended up drawing the entire Nile watershed. We did each drawing about 4 times, so I guess we spent 40-60 minutes per map, but spread over multiple lessons. The final map she added to her geography notebook. Then, at the end of the quarter, I'd choose one to have her draw from memory. It wasn't perfect, but she retained a lot. Emily 3 Quote
