I have looked around a bit and it seems like the Paul Johnson book might be what I am looking for, but I'd like to know if there are others you or your high schoolers have enjoyed. I haven't done a lot of history reading since school textbooks. If I read history, it is social history or biographies. My goal for this is to find something that is a bit more big picture, to force me to read and think about areas of history that I am not naturally interested in. Momto6inIN Posted June 23, 2020 Share Posted June 23, 2020 An alternative to reading would be to listen to Great Courses lectures. I find they are really good at drawing out "big picture" themes.
