Good morning!

Today is a momentous day here -- DS15 gets his braces off!!! So, my list for today....

...coffee
...take DS to ortho to remove the braces (yay!!!) (28 months of braces....eek)
...home, do the sewing stuff that didn't get done yesterday (wall hanging, clean up)
...school with DS15 if he feels up to it (I can't remember if "braces off" hurts the mouth the way "braces on" does....)
...if there's more time, start on the Round Robin sewing project
....lunch is leftovers again (different ones than yesterday)
....dinner is "pop-chos" -- we are going to make nachos, but served over plain popcorn, similar to a Frito Pie, to celebrate the end of the popcorn famine (aka, braces off) (we, as a family, have abstained from popcorn all these past long 28 months since DS couldn't eat it......)
....after dinner, a movie (Sonic the Hedgehog) and 4 more kinds of popcorn. Also, gummy bears &/or Swedish Fish, fresh peaches that politely ripened on our tree just in time, and assorted other "haven't been able to have since braces" items for DS15.

Oh, also email the 2 emails from yesterday (emailed the current parents, so tonight or tomorrow morning I will email the "expressed interest, but haven't registered yet" people); other than that, focusing on sewing things today vs. school things as I have prepped History, Science, and Math for 2nd grade, leaving only Lang Arts, so I have time to take a day off 🙂

Have a good day!

Home from the ortho. They didn't have us on the schedule!!!! Oh my word.  I protested and they checked what *was* scheduled and managed to squeeze us in, thank goodness. I explained we had a whole popcorn dinner planned, and we could delay it if we had to, but the whole family was waiting for this day. (and I had watched the guy last month put us on the calendar, so I have no idea what happened).

So, we are home, braces off, impressions taken for the retainers, and we go this afternoon to pick those up.

Getting ready for lunch, then a nap and some tylenol or ibuprofen as I'm having some weird back pain, and then sewing.

DS is soooo happy to have them off! He chewed gum in the car on the way home, and once home came in and took the first peach from this harvest (we have 3 peach trees; the other 2 are done, but this one ripens later and they *just* ripened this past week) and bit right into it, which he hasn't been able to do since braces. LOL! He was delighted (and said the juice felt cold on his front teeth).

Happy day!

Had lunch, had a nap, took ibuprofen today and finally feel a bit better. Have also been doing gentle (very gentle) stretches.

Heading up to sew until time to go pick up the retainers.

laundry done -- folded too! 🙂

But a big fat nothing on the school paperwork because I spent a big chunk of my day dealing with my youngest and a nasty UTI.  Dr.'s office wouldn't see her because her fever was too high, but we eventually reached a compromise that involved me picking up the container from the office, collecting the sample at home, taking it back to the office, standing in the parking lot with a nurse (both of us were masked and 6 ft apart) and having a phone appointment with the dr that way.

Mac and cheese for supper.  😉 But it is homemade, at least.

I am home alone! For a few minutes, anyway.

Taco salad was yummy.

Now I need to do session reports on two tutoring sessions, clean up the kitchen, and then go pick up dd from a picnic.

Later: read, think about tomorrow.

We've had monsoon weather all day - heavy, heavy rain. The kids and I got soaked doing chores. The horses are soaked and so are the dogs.🙂At least it is a warm rain.

Just finishing up the roasted red pepper tomato gnocchi soup now. This is the first time I've made it, and it smells good!

Made a vegetable frittata for dinner.

Now I am recalibrating my tackle list:  going to put the UPS return off again. I actually have a year to make the return so I guess waiting another day won’t hurt.

I will, however, finish today’s laundry.

A bottle of wine spontaneously fell off my fridge into my (mostly empty) crock pot and ruined it! The ceramic liner is in 15 pieces and the base was flooded with beef taco juice, is leaking and dented. Sigh.

Cleaned up the taco/crock pot disaster, then did a regular kitchen clean up.

Tidied the LR and ds' room and started a load of laundry.

Compost, trash, and recycling out.

Discussed English with Dd.

Relaxing now, about to settle down with my novel.

Sorry about the crockpot, Scout!

Just got done for the day and took a shower. I'm going to get the coffee pot set up for tomorrow, make a smoothie, and watch The Genetic Detective.

I've been wondering all day why a few of my toes are hurting, and then I finally remembered - oh yeah, a horse stepped on my foot yesterday!

Zoo Keeper, that was a lot of hoops to jump through, but I'm glad you know. Hope she gets better soon!

Scout, so sorry about your ordeal!

So ds' day ended up being 16 hours. He's very tired. He got to see a lot of how little people know about voting and technology.

I'm going to try and squeeze in a load of laundry because more storms are coming tomorrow.

...and I have to call the Dr's office asap in the morning.  My youngest is NOT tolerating the antibiotic (Bactrim) at all.  Poor little thing has vomited multiple times tonight. 😞

She is finally asleep.

I'm going to bed now too.

Prayers for a good night for both of us would be appreciated.
