I just plain forgot. Nothing to defend!! Hope that Monday went okay. This week is off to a generally rocky start, but we are okay here: very much small problems, in the general scope of things & especially given everything going on in the world. Here are my week's goals from Saturday. Hard to believe it is Wednesday already: Week's goals: finish June plans (!!!), have strong game on Monday (have rules mainly under my belt, mark A's suggested lists/pages, have good understanding of & control of the campaign -- NOT controlling the players or the story! just the space I present them, so it is consistent + rich + fun, maintain sense of where this encounter should "end" and keep us on target for that), engage Victorian garden so can plant next week (better late than never), focus on planning my RPG, my school, bringing order & grace to home & garden, and joy. The Monday game was really very successful. My June planning is quite wobbly, need to work on that, I think that especially for elder the plans need to be to engage in troubleshooting what works so he can start ninth grade with stuff that is usable for us. Also, daily art + regular math for him would be great, I've just been unmotivated to get things going. Younger? mainly math, and history reading. For today: Spend time working on RPG: rules; on current campaign (esp.: sketch out plot points to finish current room incl. combat + raise the stakes -- see 3-point method for this, have plot + necessary numbers for the 3 ending options); and on greater campaign + draft 3 encounters to be dropped in as necessary. Piano lessons for boys are happening on Zoom. Exercise + fitness all around. Spend time planning June (this should focus on troubleshooting stuff and getting it working) and the next set of terms. Rounds of housecleaning. Get chemistry stuff into new place. For tomorrow: remember to include brainstorming, actions for garden, actions for home improvement. 1 Quote
Critterfixer Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Morning. I am really off this week! I blame socked in brain fog. Hopefully crawling out of it soon. Tuesday I wrote. Wednesday, we went to the lake. Today we will: House: sweep, mop room, clean bathrooms, laundry, cat boxes, dishes School: none Cooking: none Writing: 2000 words in draft, Beta reading, send a Beta report back, critique work, personal reading. Heard back on one full--it was a rejection, but it was a subjective one, and provided some feedback which was nice. Other than that, trying to enjoy this cooler weather and hoping for a good river trip soon. Meant to do that yesterday, but the river was flooded after the tropical storm rain. 1 Quote
serendipitous journey Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Morning! Strangely cool weather today ... The plan involves rotating amongst RPG planning (rules study, current game, longer campaign); school work (art, math and piano); school planning; housework + garden chores; dinner (??? chicken or pork somethings); exercise all around + some thought to the weekend plans, improving the school room. 1 Quote
serendipitous journey Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) @Critterfixer: sorry to hear about the rejection, not a fun experience; I'm glad that there was feedback. Hoping y'all made it to the river! Today: get my act together. 😉 Today's soundtrack: Alex Boye + Dixie State University A Million Dreams Draft our plans, with content focus on chem / physics + Modern work, for mid-June through December. Review my RPG rules, study them. Read carefully through next section of my game, find a few mobile puzzles/combats/traps to add as needed and round out the descriptions of the possible exits Exercise! Plan for younger DS' birthday next Saturday Draft week's work: ramp up math, languages, reading, art and memory work for sure. Focus on building our life.
