Selkie Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Good morning! It's a gorgeous morning here. The air is filled with cottonwood fluff, the mock orange are in bloom, and the birds are chattering. I'm doing all of them instead of just "this week's" exercises so it takes quite a bit of time. washed, dried and put away dishes, knives and pans wiped down counters, stove and microwave brought up a load to fold and put away later. load #1 for today is in the washing machine 4 Quote

Selkie Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Did horse chores. It's another 90 degree day, ugh. Antenna is installed. It worked out well - the guy did not have to be in the house at all. Ordered some spray bottles. I changed my mind on dinner. It's too hot for pasta, so we're going to grill veggie burgers with baby potatoes and corn on the cob. 2 Quote

SKL Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Howdie, happy Monday. Did not really sleep last night other than an hour or two here and there. Trying to catch up on work, still getting distracted, but making some progress. Been at my computer all day so far, working and checking what's going on in the world. Still have several things I want to send out today. I have a TKD class and belt test this evening, followed by more work. I have been completely ignoring my kids, who are content to quietly play on their electronics and watch TV. This is why I really need them to be in summer camps through June. It is such a busy work season that I can't fool around doing kid stuff. Hoping to do my walking this evening, though my boss is getting on my case about being behind on some items .... 4 Quote
Selkie Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Made a pitcher of tea Got dinner things out of the freezer Ordered a huge amount of blueberries (to be delivered in July) Finally got around to splitting the big bottle of arthritis pills for dog Saw pictures of the bear that was roaming around on the boys' college campus today Going out to feed horses now 3 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 The LL Bean return is ready to take to UPS. Probably tomorrow. I don't want to go out just to go there. Called the Chairman of the board and had a good talk. Had to light a fire under his butt. 😉 I guess that's my job as director. . . Hopefully he meets the deadline I set for him! Now for a snack. 3 Quote

ScoutTN Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Venting. Spent my walk thinking about an email I received today. Earlier this week, I expressed a concern. The reply was polite, but patronizing and dismissive. The person in leadership does not have certain insights and knowledge that I do, but am not free to share. I resent being lectured to and I know way more about the issue at hand than he thinks I do. But I have concluded that pursuing the issue will not help. So I will continue to try to address the problem obliquely and send a polite "Thank you for your reply." which doesn't address the tone or substance of the email I received. Argh! All done. Thanks for listening. 3 Quote
