Paige
Is there some kind of AOPS for computer programming? DS could use a live teacher for an elective class. He’s very good and has already taken AP CS and AP CS Principles. He Is beyond AOPS Intermediate Python but loves the AOPS type of class. He might even like to try something more engineering focused but I haven’t seen that either. We don’t need anything like 3d design or printing or game design- he’s done plenty of that and it’s not really his thing. I’d live a live teacher since this is his passion and he needs discussion and feedback from someone who knows what he’s talking about (not me). I’m not coming up with anything so far.
Lanny
Has he looked into MOOC courses on https://www.coursera.org/ and https://www.edx.org/school/edx ? I don't have an account on edX but I do have an account on Coursera and they have some courses (and combinations of courses) from outstanding schools such as UMichigan. I receive frequent emails from them and many of their courses begin (I think) approximately every 30 days. Probably Asynchronous, but it can be FREE if you don't need the certificates, etc. There is discussion and it is probably a required thing that the students participate in discussion and he will get feedback from other students and possibly from the Instructor. That's my backup plan but our experience with them have been pretty hit or miss. The content itself is usually really great but feedback can be pretty random and unhelpful.
MamaSprout
eimacs? https://www.eimacs.com/parent_ucs_overview.htm?navname=PARENTS&toopen=ul1,ul25,ul5,ul8,ul9&scrolly=0&subnavid=a13 These classes are kind of pricey, but they are self-paced with a teacher. There is a lot of logic of programing in them.
Momto6inIN
My DS did an MIT Open Courseware course that was really good and challenging after AP CS. It's not live, but he did fine just going through it on his own and thought the professor was very engaging in the recorded lectures. https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-01sc-introduction-to-electrical-engineering-and-computer-science-i-spring-2011/
