I ended up with an Amish Friendship Bread Starter.  I did the first feeding.  In a few days I'll feed it again and then, apparently, I can bake with it.  WHAT do I bake with it?  Is there one base recipe?  Are there tons?  The google search left me a little confused because there were a lot of recipes to create the starter itself.  I can't believe I've gotten this far in life without doing this.  I bake a LOT of bread, and I cook, but I'm no pastry chef so I don't do a lot of cake baking.

I'm not even sure what I'm producing here.  Is it a coffee cake? Muffins? Sweet buns? Any advice/recipes for the finished product would be helpful.  I'm very comfortable with sourdough, so that part doesn't freak me out at all.

Do you have my house bugged?  I was literally just a few minutes ago telling my kids what Amish Friendship Bread is and how it works.  I haven't had a starter in 20+ years...

I just found a site called Friendship Bread Kitchen that looks like it might be helpful.

Oooh! Perfect!  Thank you.

I can neither confirm nor deny the surveillance.
