Kassia Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 My FIL is in the hospital for something different and was tested today because we found out that last week he was released from a nursing home that just had an outbreak. I'm worried about him and my MIL and also DH, who has been around them. Quote
SounderChick Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I think it varies but dd's came back in 3 days. 1 Quote
73349 Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 It depends on which one. I had mine on a Wednesday and got results... I want to say Monday, but could've been Tuesday. 1 Quote
katilac Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I had my blood drawn late on a Thursday afternoon, and they said they would call on the Saturday if it was positive. 1 Quote
slackermom Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 My child was tested at an ER late on a Monday night, and I got a call from a nurse with (negative) results at noon on Tuesday. 1 Quote

J-rap Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 My dh got his back in about 24 hours. This was with the nose swab. 1 Quote
rjand6more Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Nasal swab last week took 48 hours. In hospital would probably be a blood draw, I would guess? Quote
Pam in CT Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 It depends on whether the hospital administering the test is running their own labs. In my area, people getting tested by hospitals running their own results are now getting results back within 24 hours except on Sunday. If it's sent out, 48 hours. (In the beginning, the waits were up to 5 days.) Holding your FIL in the light. 1 Quote
catz Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Really depends on locale and labs involved. I know people who have waited as long as 12 days. Seems to be 1-3 for most now. The average incubation period is 5-6 days so if he has been out long than that, you may be able to relax a little. Hope you hear soon. 1 Quote

I should have said they poked my brain with a Q-tip on Thursday afternoon and said they would call on Saturday if positive. 1 Quote
