Just found out yesterday that the broadway recording of Hamilton is coming to Disney+ on July 3, 2020 instead of to theatre in fall 2021.  We are all super excited here.  I saw it with my 14yo in London last year and took my daughter to see it in Chicago in October before it closed.  The rest of the family knows all the lyrics, but have never seen it.  We don’t currently have Disney + or any streaming service, but we will be making a short term exception for this!

My family is behind the times -- we've never listened to a single song, nor watched any bit of it. We'll finally catch up with the rest of the world once this hits Disney+!

we're behind the times with you but will be left behind since we don't have Disney+ and this isn't something that will convince me to get it.  Now put a new Marvel movie on there and I'm all in.

Super Excited!! I have seen in in Chicago and got tickets to see it in Atlanta (it was my Christmas present) but that got postponed, and I imagine it will be cancelled. So happy to watch the original cast. I listen to the soundtrack while walking at least once a week.  My daughter has a Disney + account - I think some special promotion for college kids to get them hooked so I will watch it with her. She is a big fan, too. In fact, she was surprised how much Hamilton helped her on her US history exam. She said at least 4 questions she could answer recalling the songs!

DH and I saw it before the Great Shutdown but didn’t take the kids. Too pricey. Sigh. I will probably make an exception for this showing. It’s cheaper than the theater to buy one month. My kids love live shows. 😂

I had never listened to a single song when my son and I went to see it In London.  We were there for his 8th grade trip from his grandma and my husband insisted we see a play.  We saw the sign coming out of the train station and my son decided that one would make his sister the most jealous since she had been to Broadway before without him.  I was a bit nervous about the genre of the music - no one would accuse me of being a rap/hip hop sort of fan- but it was truly amazing.  I still can’t believe he could rhyme the entire life of Alexander Hamilton and that it occurred to him as an idea after reading the book.

We saw it on tour last summer, and loved it (DD has been a Hamilfan since she first heard the soundtrack). I don't know if She's offering it this summer, but last summer DD was able to do a short (4 week, meeting twice a week) class at G3 where they read the book and focused on the history and where the musical diverged with other teens (since adultery is a pretty big point, I think the teen focus was kind of required). It was a nice add on to US History.

One note for those who have not seen it-i would consider Hamilton PG-13 due to the aforementioned plot point and the fact that the language is appropriate to the music genre.

I would agree on PG-13.  I went in blind with my 14yo son.  They don’t show anything, but it is still there and there are some bad words.  I am very conservative so we had a talk before they listened to the sound track, but I think they heard worse in the locker room at swim practice especially when the high school team was there.

The class sounds cool.  My older kids would love that!
