What do you use out of the shower for dry skin?  It has to be quick or I won't use it. I had an oil I liked, but I used it and don't remember the brand. I replaced it with one from soap and glory and it's useless. Trader Joe's lotion works OK.  I'm not good at researching beauty products because I get bored and veer off on the internet.  Who has the magical answer for me?  I AM working on drinking more water, but I need to attack on more than one front.

I swear by Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion. I have insanely dry skin, and a real love for wearing black. If I don’t use it, I will literally have dry flakes coming through black leggings.  If I do, I’m good.

I’ll put my vote in too for CeraVe cream in the tub, with the pump. It’s easy, it works, and it absorbs quickly so I don’t greasy. Love it.

My 'dry skin' problem turned out instead to be an 'excessive dead skin' problem-- dead skin that needed to be sloughed off.  I've found that if I exfoliate thoroughly in a bath every other week, I don't need body lotion anymore.

That's a lot of votes for the Cereve cream.  I'm going to put it in my Amazon cart.  I had a moment of panic when I thought Trader Joe's stopped carrying my go-to lotion.  They just changed the bottle.  Still I think I need to level up to more serious stuff.

FYI, I use the cerave on my face as well. I love it and I don’t think you need to level up at all! I really do think simple is better with skin care, but I’m no expert. 😆 Now if by level up, you mean wrinkle stuff—full disclosure, I use Retin A. But that’s about it. Wrinkle cream and cerave and sunscreen. 😁

Plain coconut oil from the baking section works great for me. If it's cool in the house, I use a teaspoon to get it out of the jar.

Skin care is a complex process.
These are moisturizing gels, peels, and cleansing masks.
I even started to practice mesotherapy at home, it also helps a lot.
But if you still have a lot of dry skin, use hyauloronic serum.
