KungFuPanda Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 What do you use out of the shower for dry skin? It has to be quick or I won't use it. I had an oil I liked, but I used it and don't remember the brand. I replaced it with one from soap and glory and it's useless. Trader Joe's lotion works OK. I'm not good at researching beauty products because I get bored and veer off on the internet. Who has the magical answer for me? I AM working on drinking more water, but I need to attack on more than one front. Quote
kbutton Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 Vanicream--they have both a heavy and a light lotion. Quote
Carol in Cal. Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 Cereve--no irritating scent, very emollient, available in a pump bottle so I leave it out on the counter and use it freely. 1 Quote
Pawz4me Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 CeraVe in the big tub. I lightly towel off, still leaving my skin a little damp, and then apply it liberally all over. 1 Quote
Carrie12345 Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I swear by Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion. I have insanely dry skin, and a real love for wearing black. If I don’t use it, I will literally have dry flakes coming through black leggings. If I do, I’m good. Quote
LuvToRead Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 Another vote for CeraVe in the tub. I also like Aveeno eczema relief. 1 Quote
mmasc Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I’ll put my vote in too for CeraVe cream in the tub, with the pump. It’s easy, it works, and it absorbs quickly so I don’t greasy. Love it. 1 Quote
bolt. Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) Almond oil. (From the international cooking or 'natural foods' section in the grocery store.) Edited May 14, 2020 by bolt. 1 Quote
jemsmom Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 My 'dry skin' problem turned out instead to be an 'excessive dead skin' problem-- dead skin that needed to be sloughed off. I've found that if I exfoliate thoroughly in a bath every other week, I don't need body lotion anymore. Quote
KungFuPanda Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 That's a lot of votes for the Cereve cream. I'm going to put it in my Amazon cart. I had a moment of panic when I thought Trader Joe's stopped carrying my go-to lotion. They just changed the bottle. Still I think I need to level up to more serious stuff. 1 Quote

FYI, I use the cerave on my face as well. I love it and I don’t think you need to level up at all! I really do think simple is better with skin care, but I’m no expert. 😆 Now if by level up, you mean wrinkle stuff—full disclosure, I use Retin A. But that’s about it. Wrinkle cream and cerave and sunscreen. 😁 1 Quote

73349 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Plain coconut oil from the baking section works great for me. If it's cool in the house, I use a teaspoon to get it out of the jar. Quote
Helga Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Skin care is a complex process. These are moisturizing gels, peels, and cleansing masks. I even started to practice mesotherapy at home, it also helps a lot. But if you still have a lot of dry skin, use hyauloronic serum. Quote
Kebo Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 If you are looking for another body oil, Neutrogena makes a nice one that absorbs quickly. They have scented and unscented versions. https://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Fragrance-Free-Lightweight-Moisturizer-Formula/dp/B001B0ZZFS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=19A3K5ND60XL5&dchild=1&keywords=neutrogena+body+oil+fragrance+free&qid=1594569162&sprefix=neutrogena+body+oil%2Caps%2C378&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzR0tLQ1AxQVNYRVJUJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTk3MzI3MzY5QkZKMjZCQUNINCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzc3NzQxMlc4M041ODY3ME5JNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= Quote
