readinmom Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Morning, all! Try as I might, I could not get this site to load yesterday. Grateful it does today! I'm sad because I can't go to our school's graduation ceremony today...doctor says absolutely not. To do: coffee, watch devotional continue packing china keep drinking water to reach goal for the day, helps with blood sugar levels (it's high 90s here, makes my numbers crazy high) call storage place for unit sizes make sure dd has checked in with classes email siblings yoga laundry not sure for dinner, but probably my low carb tortilla pizza creation. It's actually pretty good. Oh, and of course, salad. Read... Have a great day! 6 Quote

Well, that's assuming it's not cancelled. I'll probably wait to pay for the conference for another week or so. Hooray! I am glad you get to go! Edited May 7, 2020 by ScoutTN 4 Quote
Selkie Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 16 minutes ago, Margaret in CO said: But now bad news. Dan, the old dressage horse is dead. I think he was 27. He needed to get put down in a month when the flies came out as he has a big scar on his leg that won't heal--the flies would get into it. But he got into the ditch and couldn't rise. Dh had to shoot him, and is now off burying him. He was dd's last show horse. This will be very hard on her. Youngest saved a bunch of tail hair. We had a bracelet made from his hair 10 years ago, but it finally wore out and we did another. He was the one that used to spook at petunias! We have a hysterical picture of him, in a dressage test, at a HUGE show, jumping sideways, eyes wild. Someone said later--oh it must have been the swans. Nope, it's horse-eating petunias! He was quite the character. RIP WD Dapper Dan So sorry, Margaret. It is hard to lose an old friend.😢 3 Quote
TravelingChris Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 So when I came home from lunch, I got a call from the business office of one of our local hospitals. I called back and tried to find out who owed a bill- tried me first since I am the one who has the most medical procedures, then dh, then dd2 who just moved out in Feb, then even tried dd1 who lived here at our house three years ago but thinking hospital could have gotten mixed up with phone numbers. I tell the lady that she lived here with her dh but I don't know his birthdate. She asked is his name Scott? No, no it isn't. That is the name of the notorious deadbeat who gives our phone number everywhere or claims it is still his. We have stopped getting calls from law firms and creditors since both Comcast and now Google Fiber have gotten better at stopping such calls but apparently he is giving that number at the hospital or its clinics. He hasn't had this number since at least 2010. Can you guess that I despise this man??? Anyway, I told them they should flag his account for cash payment and it is definitely flagged that our number is not his number. 4 Quote
Hedgehog Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) So... my week fell apart early on, and it's taken me a few days to put things back together again. All because of the moon. 🌝 This is totally a thing - being affected by the moon. I get insomnia really badly sometimes, and I have discovered that it's almost always tied to the phases of the moon. I'll be ticking along in life, and seem to slide into a patch of sleeping really badly, and everything goes to pot. I suddenly think.. hang on, is it a full moon or something? and lo and behold, it is. This week we've had a supermoon (I think?) and that seems to have made it worse. I can feel it receding slightly now. Boy, will I ever be glad to get a proper night's sleep again. I am feral without decent sleep! I didn't even set myself a list of things this morning. However, I did manage to: - Teach an English student for an hour without losing my mind - Correct some work from my tutored students and from my kids - Take part in a bible study group with some youngsters.. not too difficult, since they are great and mostly carry it themselves - make tea. Okay. It was store-bought pizza. But I still cooked it. Hopefully I'll get better sleep tonight, and tomorrow will be easier. Hope y'all are doing okay. x Edited May 7, 2020 by Hedgehog 4 Quote
