bfw0729 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I have a 7th grade daughter using Art of Problem Solving Pre-Algebra. I just noticed that Royal Fireworks Press teaches Art of Problem Solving online! My daughter uses the curriculum almost entirely on her own. She asks me a few questons a couple of times a week, but is mostly independent. I'm concerned if the math becomes too difficult and will eventually need online support. Has anyone used the online class through Royal Fireworks Press? What has been your experience? Quote
zoo_keeper Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I had no idea they rolled one out! It must have launched this academic year. Fair warning, we took one class with their peer mentor network (island level) and while I adore and have several levels of the curriculum their technology grasp for online classes (fall 2019) was elementary at best. If you're open to other providers, my eldest is about to complete her fourth aops class at wtma where I have been pleased with the math instructors. Quote
Farrar Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I've been curious about their classes in general because they seem to have expanded their options a good bit in the last year. I saw that they're running several short term classes... that might be a good way to scope them out as a provider in general - though comparing a very short term humanities class to a yearlong math class might be tricky, but at least you'd get a sense of the platform and the support level.
