A friend is really struggling at this point, just overwhelmed and discouraged. I don't know her well, so I don't know her likes/dislikes. We are friends from church. She's a homeschool mom with 5 kids, ages 2 - 13. She gets out of the house hiking and bike riding with family, and her husband is very hands on.

My husband and I will do a drive by/drop off tomorrow. I'm thinking balloons and all of the things for an ice cream sundae bar--how does that sound? But I would love suggestions, I'm terrible with gift ideas.

I think that's a wonderful idea - something the whole family can enjoy (unless there are dietary issues).  But really, I think just the gesture alone will brighten her day!  That is so thoughtful and generous of you.

I would suggest something that would last beyond the initial drop off, so she would be able to look at it and remember that you’re thinking of her. Maybe a small plant, like a succulent or potted herb (basil or rosemary)?

ETA: I meant in addition to the balloons and treats, which are great ideas that I’m sure they will love and appreciate.

I love the idea of a food treat the whole family can enjoy. Ice cream bar ingredients sound great! Or you could deliver some take-and-bake pizzas and cookies, to give her a night off cooking. Or anything chocolate!

Etsy has a lot of wonderful, inexpensive, printable Scripture cards. You can use them as cards or put them in a little frame:

Or, here are some free ones:

My friend has given me chocolates, fuzzy socks, and soda.  All greatly appreciated:)

I like the ice cream  bar idea. Maybe include a quart of Sorbet too, just in case someone can't have dairy. I agree that it is a sweet thing to do for a friend who will treasure your gesture. 💖
