stephanier.1765 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Here's a video of one of the kittens barking at a lamp shade. Yes, I said a lamp shade. This isn't the first time he's barked at something and about half the time it has more noise to it. Hard to explain, really. This is the first time though where he did it repeatedly enough that I had time to record it. I really wish I knew what was going on in his little brain. As I've said in the past, kittens are weird. One is scared of everything including her own shadow and the other thinks he's part dog. Please excuse the chair cover. It's not holding up well to the kitten madness. 8 Quote
Murphy101 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 LOL. I used to have a cat that would do that to strangers at our door. Or anyone at all knocking after dark. She would run to the door just like a dog and bark at it. We never had a dog back then. She was just born weird. 1 2 Quote
Renai Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 I have a cat that fetches...and brings back the item so we can throw and she fetch again. I'll open one eye at o'dark thirty and she's sitting there staring at the object she dropped under my chin to throw for her... 2 2 Quote
MEmama Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Ours play fetch too. So much fun! One could play for ages when she was younger; we would throw a ball up the stairs and she would chase after it and bring it back. Over and over and over. Lol Both of ours make squeaks and snaps at birds and squirrels out the window. We call it making bird teeth. 🙂. I so puffy heart cats. 😻 2 1 Quote

I can't imagine what people must have thought when they came to your door.🤣 The looks must have been priceless. It's funny to witness quirks they are born with and how that changes over time. One of them (Bear) used to barrel through everything and was afraid of nothing. Now she jumps at shadows. We've been wracking our brains trying to figure out what caused it so we could help her not be so fearful but it might also be another one of those quirks you can't explain. 6 minutes ago, Renai said: I have a cat that fetches...and brings back the item so we can throw and she fetch again. Kebo Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Some cats really are "different". Yours isn't the only barker: 2 Quote

They are so unique, fun and often weird. And I love weird. LOL One of our cats catches hair ties. You flick them in her direction and she jumps to catch them. She won't return them, but instead drops them and waits for the next hair tie to be flicked in our direction. When we run out, we trade places with the cat and start all over. 😻 5 hours ago, Kebo said: Some cats really are "different". Yours isn't the only barker: That's the sound I was trying to catch! Thank goodness he doesn't keep going on like that. Right now it's cute but that would drive me bonkers eventually. LOL Quote
