HS Mom in NC Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Yesterday I was out in my woodland garden taking soil samples so I could decide where to put each of my flowers and vines. I noticed Selena, my very sweet elderly neighbor from Columbia, moving slowly around her property, which borders mine, singing in Spanish with something dangling from her hand. When she got closer I greeted her. She was carrying a rosary and singing church songs. As we chatted loudly from a distance, she revealed she daily walks her property praying and sometimes sneaks into my garden (her words, not mine) to pray when I'm not outside, but is careful not to step on any of my plants. I told her she was more than welcome to come into my garden anytime she likes to pray or visit, since it's my intention to make it a prayer garden anyway. I'm glad God made me aware of that so I can prioritize removing any trip hazards on the foot path and make a few adjustments to the planting plan so Selena has direct, easy access through the fern garden part next to her property. Is it weird that I like her even more since she was willing to technically trespass? It makes me think of that Jane Cobb choked up line in Firefly, "You guys had a riot on account of me?" 13 1 Quote
