Murphy101 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I got a super long walk in late last night and chatted on the phone with a bestie for about 2 hours during it. First time in 3 weeks I’ve left the house property or had a nice long convo with a friend. The neighborhood was empty. there was only one other person out walking their dog and we were easily able to stay 4 hours from each other until we turned down different streets. Came home and Dh met me in the driveway with a glass of wine. I haven’t had wine in months. Slept Great. Woke up feeling so much better even though my allergies have delivered a terrible headache and watery eyes. I finished watching Crash Landing on You yesterday. I really loved it. There was chatter online about a second season but season one feel very complete to me. I have so many questions about Korean culture now though! And Jung Hyuk now beats Jake on This Is Us for men to live up to in relationships. I’m only in epi 3 with my older kids, it’ll be fun to watch with them and get their take on it. Off to do more sewing and cleaning and schooling. It’s a warm day so maybe some yard work too. 4 Quote
Ali in OR Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 We have beautiful weather this week--tomorrow is supposed to get to 70°. I did get dd out for a walk yesterday and hope to again today. She loves it. I guess if I run out of time I could still get her out in the back yard when it warms up later this afternoon (we start in the 30's and end in the upper 60's). We can pipe her music out to speakers on the patio. Other activity: 1) Exercise is done. No strength training today because I got on the computer and ran out of time. 2) Work 4 hours. 3) Change cat litter and get the trash and recycling out to the curb. 4) Got guardianship stuff done but still have accounting stuff to do. 5) Try again to make a mask. All I did yesterday was get the fabric washed and ironed. 6) Rotini with Italian sausage for dinner and some leftover bread from Sunday will become garlic toasts. Plus salad. 4 Quote
Emba Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Monday I had a meeting with my writing group by conference call. It was fun, and reminded me I’m getting somewhere with my writing goals even though it doesn’t feel like it. Yesterday was crap. DS12 had a very moody day and wouldn’t do school without conflict. I was nearing the end of my patience and so he got to go mow the lawn. Usually that would have fixed his attitude, and we tried again. Problem continued. So he went to the field with Dad and sat in the pickup for awhile. When he came back, he was sunny and cooperative but it was too late for my attitude to be equally good. i made no knead bread for the first time in years and it turned out wonderful. That was the best part of yesterday. Today i got my strength training done for the first time in weeks. I’m not making progress but I’m not going backwards yet either. I think my back has healed from the torn muscle. It didn’t bother me at all. The children’s education sufffered though while I was getting my workout in. But I’ve wanted to do it for two days and every time I would get ready to start someone would need me, and at the end of the day I’m too tired for strength training. It was nice enough to do most of the workout outside, and it did wonders for my mood. Actually, between that and the endorphins I feel great but also like i don’t care if they learn anything today or not. I think we’re going to have a pretty light second half of the day. I want to make masks for family members this afternoon. I’ve been wanting to get that done for three days , too, so we’ll see. 3 Quote
JustEm Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Today is going well. The kids finished their independent work before I woke up. Dh made waffles with a cinnamon bun icing to top it(yum.) We wrote for an hour. Then did our daily walk. We just finished lunch, which is our big meal of the day and now we're relaxing. After relax time the kids and I are deep cleaning their bedrooms. If they do a thorough job and get rid of at least two big boxes of stuff I'm going to let the rest of the day be an electronics day. 3 Quote
historically accurate Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 It's going well here today. DH had to go in to the office this morning. He is no longer fighting me on changing clothes/etc right when he comes home so that's nice. Two youngest kids and I picked up the free meals they are giving out at the school which is less than a mile from our house. Kids actually enjoyed them, and there are cereal bars remaining for tomorrow morning. Lady who is sewing masks for me sent 2 to my mom today, so I'll breathe easier when she tells me she is going to the gas station daily for lotto tickets. I was able to get a Walmart grocery pickup for tomorrow night which is a load off of my mind. I hate that procuring food has become so difficult. Doing all the sheets today and catching up on cleaning the kitchen. Youngest has youth group online tonight, so probably no board games. She did come in and snuggle with us to watch Home Town after everyone else retired to their rooms so I'm sending some more love her way today. Today is supposed to be the last nice day we have for a while, so I think I'll get outside and clean up the garden some more. 3 Quote
JustEm Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 OMG! We were in the girls' room for an hour and a half and still didn't finish. They did fill up 3 bags of trash and one bin of donate. The trash was mainly stuffed animals(we don't donate those) they no longer wanted and old pictures. The baby really put a hamper on my efficiency, which is the main reason we're not done. But I told them they did an amazing job and can be done in the bedrooms for today. They get electronics for the rest of the day and only have to clean the living room when it isn't their turn on one of the computers. The living room is the one room that we ALWAYS go to bed with it spot less so it is always a.quick clean for everyone. Once the baby is down for her long evening nap I'll go back in the girls room and finishing dealing with the dresser at least. Then I'm spending the rest of my evening writing, reading, and relaxing. 3 Quote
