mommyoffive Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Have you gotten yours yet? I heard that some people have gotten theirs a few days ago. Quote
OH_Homeschooler Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I'm expecting direct deposit because that's how I receive my tax refund, and no I have not received anything yet. Quote
Heatherwith4 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 We do direct deposit with our taxes, so we will get it that way. I don’t expect it for a couple of weeks. Quote

Carrie12345 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 It just occurred to me that we owed federal taxes for 2018 (haven’t filed 2019 yet), so I didn’t take my checkbook out to give direct deposit info. Every other year, we have. Not sure if H&R Block autofills that info from previous years if there’s no refund. I think it did auto fill for state. Not sure. I’m guessing there’s a strong likelihood that we may be in the group that has to wait on paper checks. Blech. Quote

If you don't want to wait for a paper check, you could go ahead and file for 2019 and if you owe, you could pay by direct debit - even just pay a small portion of what you owe so that the IRS has your acct info. The direct debit payment is an option on the IRS website. You don't have to pay the full amount until July 15... Quote
JustEm Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 No we didn't. We expect it to direct deposit into our account when we get it though Quote

According to IRS.GOV you will be given an opportunity to give them your direct deposit information. The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do? In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
