I'm sure hoping they'll let the sailors wear wild ones as I can't get plain blue fabric or Navy camo for days. I'm going to be reduced to cutting up t-shirts for ties soon, as I'm basically out of elastic and getting low on ribbon. Anyone want to make 3300 masks with me????? I did two miles on hills on the treadmill, so off for a shower and then up in 4 hours for the "old peoples" shopping. With my mask on! I’m failing at even making ten masks so the answer has to be no for me. 3 Quote

ScoutTN Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 (edited) Good morning! Done: Printed some things. Deleted a ton of old file from one laptop. Breakfast in the backyard sunshine. School things with kids. ✅ Continue weeding and prepping garden beds. Maybe seed one? ✅ Order something (?!) for dd's Easter basket. I have some small gifts for ds, but none for her. Walk Chx into fajita marinade. ✅ Call mom ✅ Discuss bicycle with ds. Whatever else comes up. Edited April 6, 2020 by ScoutTN 6 Quote
SKL Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 (edited) Howdy. Happy Monday! I was pretty unproductive all weekend, but this morning I got up early and got some work out. Done: Washed & dried a load of laundry overnight. Coffees 1 & 2. Emailed with teachers about what exactly is due today (hard copy submissions). Sent out a number of client-related emails. Caught up on calendar, emails, news, social media, and electronic school stuff. To do: More client work. Get kids up & working on school. Includes: AR tests. Zoom meeting that is supposed to be virtual DC trip ... they were supposed to be in DC this week. Complete all hardcopy work so I can drop it off this afternoon. I know they have a ton including 3 sketch book assignments. 😕 Science research paper due today. Whatever else their teachers demand on this supposed-to-be-a-field-trip day. Clean the kitchen and finish the laundry - I was too tired yesterday. Yoga, TKD practice, walking, etc. A little reading. Whatever else gets done. Edited April 6, 2020 by SKL 7 Quote
MysteryJen Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Good morning! Selkie Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Good morning! For all of you who are making masks, here's an article about which materials provide the best filtration. Two layers of blue shop towels (the kind you can buy at hardware or farm stores) provide 93% filtration. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8187603/Designers-say-layers-blue-shop-towels-inside-cotton-masks-help-effectiveness-homemade-PPEs.html Already done: fed horses woke ds21 up to medicate his horse, who was being a booger (not that I blame him, that medicine is yucky) fed dogs & cats discovered that Mac's right ear is infected again, so cleaned it out and found some ear meds - trying to avoid a trip to the vet printed out the first of a long list of work emails that need attention had breakfast with dh (leftover enchiladas, yum) two loads of laundry texted farrier To do: lots of office work sort through Friday & Saturday's mail that has been sitting in the garage getting de-cootifyed send kids to drop off mail (maybe twice - they really need to get out of the house!) sweep out haysheds text hay guys to bring another couple loads vacuum dinner: lemony chickpea rice soup 6 Quote
math teacher Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I have a stack of papers to grade. Clean floors Exercise Dinner-dh may cook If I get these four things done, I will be happy. 7 Quote

I have 4 or 5 reports that are all overdue. Need to decide which gets done first. My internet is throwing me out even more than usual. Probably because all 5 of us are currently trying to work on our wifi. 😕 Edited April 6, 2020 by SKL 6 Quote

Jean in Newcastle Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 Struggling to stay on task here so I'm going to write out every single step I've taken so far (and fill in the ones I've missed along the way). Ie. Using this as my brain since mine has "gone walkabout". Human care, pet care and medical care in no particular order: tested fasting bloodsugars. (Not optimal but not terrible either.) made bed. fed Neko. fed Juliet fed myself Synced Fitbit and joined today's challenge. Logged breakfast in Sparkpeople Logged breakfast in my bloodsugar app (actually just the carb count) Showered Dressed brushed teeth told Amazon online that they delivered a package to a wrong address because I didn't recognize the doorway in the picture they sent. Then realized that oops, it was delivered correctly - to my son. I have never seen his doorway. got the name of an Indie music group that I was trying to remember, ,from my son. gave Juliet her pill took my pills 3 Quote
Selkie Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Our morning sunshine has been replaced by clouds and drizzle. I've had the windows open all day and the fresh air is so wonderful. Dh thinks it is still too cool for that (47 degrees) and has been grumbling about me and my Nordic genes.🤷♀️😀He's working downstairs in his office all day, where he can keep it as warm as he likes. Sent ds21 to the mailbox. Did horse chores and soaked Scotchy's foot. The vet wants to dig around in the hoof again today, but the farrier wants to give it two more days to see if the abcess will open up on its own. I'm letting the farrier make the call, since he's the foot expert. (Side note: I am missing my favorite old horse vet, who is not currently working because of coronavirus - he doesn't have it, just trying not to catch it. Younger vets are fine, but I prefer the old-timers who have BTDT and seen it all.) Swept out both haysheds. Went through the mail. Ds21 and I discussed where to put our vegetable garden, since the previous location is now horse pasture. There is a large, flat, sunny patch behind our house that would be perfect *but* there's a big rock wall back there that has snakes living in it - and in the summer, they slither out and sun themselves on the rocks. I try to avoid that area as much as humanly possible, and would probably have a nervous breakdown if I came across a snake amongst the vegetables, so I'm voting no on that idea.😬😱 Cleaned the kitchen and one bathroom. Going to eat a quick lunch and then do office work all afternoon. 3 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 Oh and I fed the "pigs with wings" once I managed to finally rip open the "easy open" package. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Folded and put away a loadvof laundry. Washed dishes Dropped off something for a neighbor. Made lunch for dd. 3 Quote
SKL Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I forgot to include a to-do for dropping off the kids' papers. I hope they get the final things done as they are just starting some of them. Ugh. I know this is a stupid rant, but I am so sick of their sketchbook assignments. They take forever and IMO add zero value. If kids wanted to draw they could do it without grades. So today they are supposed to turn in the sketchbook. I hope that means art is over until they go back to school! Please! (I have similar thoughts about their music, gym, and Spanish assignments right now.) (I loved art, music, and Spanish as a kid, but my kids are very different from me.) 4 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 Masked up and went to the grocery store. There was a run on almond milk! All that was left was chocolate almond milk and some gross unsweetened stuff. I got macadamia milk instead. went to the pet store. Now that masks are encouraged I am seeing them everywhere. But seriously it doesn’t do any good if you pull them under your nose! dd helped me to take pictures inside Juliet’s ears. Sort of. Juliet still wasn’t very cooperative. Did an e-check with the vet. checked bloodsugar. It was perfect. made and ate lunch. logged food on Sparkpeople. logged carbs on bloodsugar app. . 3 Quote

Jean in Newcastle Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 chicken curry is in the crockpot (lots of onions, ginger, tumeric and garlic - referencing the thread on that). As a result of dh's work from home, listened in on a regional hospital report on COVID19. Was so impressed at their calm reliance on facts, on preparation (for what they can prepare for) and their commitment to keep patients and staff safe and informed. Have done some Duolingo. Keeping myself in the top 3 spot for Japanese (I'm so competitive!) 1 1 Quote
SKL Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Dropped off the kids' school papers, and picked up Easter candy on the way back. Got one more work thing out. It's past 7 now, but I still want to get at least one more out before I go walking. We'll see! 3 Quote
