gardenmom5 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I don't know if they was shared elsewhere, but it came over my feed from my state's emergency management agency. it uses a coffee filter to actually filter. since they're food grade, they should be safe to have against your mouth. 7 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 I was not able to find any tighter cotton material, so I ordered a set of pillowcases that should arrive tomorrow. I like the coffee filter idea! 2 Quote

I’d much rather be hand sewing while working with the kids on the couch than trying to thread my vintage child size sewing machine I dug out of the garage. Lol. That looks like a bra cup! It's so pretty! Quote
Pen Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Some people find coffee filter too hard to breathe through. Others seem to like a cone shape coffee filter to keep fabric of mask away from mouth and nose. Quote
happi duck Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I did the bandana with coffee filter and hair ties to go shopping. I got a good fit that didn't slip for the whole trip. I added safety pins by the hair ties. We have some pleated masks now but the bandana seemed good in a pinch. Quote

teachermom2834 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I think the bandanna idea works well and is easy. My 12 yo dd is the only one who sews here and she made a few masks but got tired of it. I also tried the one with the t-shirt cut out and that didn't work as well. Quote
