Night Elf Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I have a large bandana that I'll try this with today. I think I have two hair ties, if not, I'll sacrifice some stockings. 🙂 No Sew Masks 10 3 Quote

Guest Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I tried it yesterday. I found the hair ties to be a bit short, but I’m thinking I can find a pair or two of hose to sacrifice. We have a lot of bandanas because it seems like every program DD goes to uses them to color code kids into groups. Quote
Murphy101 Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 What dmmetler wrote. I just ran to try this. I have the larger hair ties and it’s still going to pull in the ears really uncomfortably within a few minutes. However! If you slide a pair of shoelaces in instead you have a good tie back! 1 Quote
freesia Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 This is the nicest no see one I have seen. Origami face mask—I live it. Thank you. Should we bleach them or is wash/dry ok? Quote
Heather in MD Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I read somewhere the suggestion of using the skinny elastic headbands instead of hair ties. The kind that you can get in multi-packs from the store. 1 Quote
Annie G Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Thanks for posting! I have some older hair ties that are much longer and I think they’ll work. Quote
Lady Florida. Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Thank you! My sewing machine is in storage but between ds and me we have a bunch of elastic hair ties. I don't have material (also in storage) or handkerchiefs but I can probably get some. 1 Quote

mom31257 Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Following, now to hunt for some kind of fabric in this house that might work. Quote

Would 100% cotton dinner napkins work if I lined them with a filter material? I’m certainly no expert but I think cotton napkins could work well even without a filter. Quote

I've been checking our sheets, and they aren't 100% cotton because a lot of them are microfiber or a blend. I'm wondering about 100% cotton t-shirts, but I'm not sure it's a tight enough weave. 1 Quote
