ktgrok Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I'm sad. Obviously, it is sad when anyone dies, but man, I liked his music. He was 61 yrs old. 4 Quote
fairfarmhand Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Yeah I read that last night. So sad. I’m right outside of Nashville and this stings. he sang such true to life songs. His poor family. i fear many such deaths will occur in the next few weeks. Covid 19 in Nashville is really ramping up. 4 Quote

Hadley Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) It’s very strange and very sad to me. I am not one to follow celebrities. I don’t personally know them, and I am usually removed from that world. However, this man sang the soundtrack to my college years. I lived in Austin at the time, and his songs were very popular in the restaurants and bars in the area. For some reason, this felt close to home...can’t put my finger on why...perhaps because I live so far away from that place/life now...makes me homesick on top of everything else... Selkie Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 He just did a show in our area a few weeks ago.🙁 2 Quote

cbollin Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 love the parade! on Sunday when I heard the news, I couldn't decide if it was too early to sing his song Prop Me Up (as a honoring of the fun and joy his music brought). Other fans were ok with that. My dh thought I was a little insensitive. But now, after that parade, I'm back to listening to John Deere Green. prayers for the family and friends. 2 Quote

I don't think he'd mind the Prop Me Up song at all 🙂 Quote
