I just got NetFlix today and so am totally new to it. Before now, I’ve heard good things about various shows and I’ll need to peruse its offerings.

However, we’re cooped up inside for at least 1 mth.  and I’d like to know of any recc’s that are somewhat educational. I’d be watching it with a 10 yr old. Thanks in advance!

Here are a few past threads with possible ideas:
"Educational Netflix/Prime favorites?"
"Good middle school documentaries on Netflix?"
"Netflix... need movie/show ideas" (for clean family friendly movies/TV shows)
"Looking for excellent documentaries on Netflix"
"Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and YouTube history movies" (can we make a list)

ETA: some shows I ran across doing an online search:

Mythbusters
Disney Nature series
Hidden Kingdoms series
Cutest Animals series
Dangerous Animals series
Africa series
Life Below Zero series
Planet Earth BBC series
Frozen Planet BBC collection
The Greatest Places (Imax)
A Sloth Named Velcro
Growing Up Wild
Microcosms
The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos
More Than Honey
Virunga
Abstract
The Universe

Who Was series -- entertaining/humor of key historical figures
Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History -- entertaining/humor of unsung black heroes
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
I Am Kalam -- child who was inspired by India's president
Big Miracle -- fictionalized drama of a real event of whales trapped in the Arctic Circle
The Mars Generation
Night on Earth

I knew there had to be a whole subculture out there on this, LOL. Thanks & I’ll look into all that you mentioned!

Howdy. I’m asking this again but slightly differently. What Netflix shows does your tween like? My kiddo has finished ‘Series of Unfortunate Events’ & likes ‘Stranger Things’. She’s looking for a new series but IDK what’s out there. I’m looking for something witty with a strong storyline that’s not too graphic. She likes adventures & mysteries with a tiny bit of romance (not over-the-top though). Any suggestions for her next binge watch? Thanks!
