Good morning! It is grey and cold- with rain expected this afternoon. Dmil needs a few things (some more DVDs to watch- she doesn't like to watch things on the computer- and more fruit and snack things). She is in an independent living place that locked down March 11- so dd2 and ds3 are going to drop things off and wave from the sidewalk, so she can see them. The residents aren't allowed to leave their rooms- so it is getting lonely for most of them. Also it is an errand for the kids- who want to feel useful.

  • coffee/paper
  • chores
  • laundry
  • shirt#2- expand skill set- I redrafted the neckline and facings last night- and I am going to shorten the sleeves
  • kids out for errands and drop off for dmil (pharmacy pick up for ds3- inhaler, grocery store for dmil, drop off- probably will sneak in a run as well)
  • read a little
  • figure out dinner
  • watch a movie tonight

Have a great day!

Good morning! Happy Friday! (does it matter, these days, that it's Friday...? I can't decide...)

Yesterday, I finished cutting the pieces for the Christmas lights and the words, and decided I really do need to spread them out and put a "string" for the lights, rather than overlapping the edge of the other border. Figured out how to make that without using gobs of fabric (did a sample) and will do that today. I need to get all of that fused down today so that tomorrow I can do the detail work.

Other things:
...laundry?
...school with DS15
...videos -- 1st grade science, K craft, 1st grade craft
...finish the Christmas lights on the quilt (see above)
...help DH plant the veggies; he and DS built the boxes yesterday, today is move the dirt/plant things
...remember to actually call my grandma and check on her
...color & post up my "Bear Hunt" bear for the neighborhood kids
...dinner: come up with something fun
...either Lord of the Rings, or another video game/sewing night (we ended up video gaming/sewing last night)

Margaret, I hope the calf is okay. Keep us posted.

Got the main video done (science for 1st grade); made, edited, uploaded to YT. Yay!

Can't do the K craft yet, don't have sunscreen; will wait on that &/or skip the video. (they have PDF instructions of the craft)

DH's lunch plan is bumped to dinner (yay!), and he's making soup for lunch (yay!) so time to eat.

Will do garden stuff after, and the 1st grade craft video (short/easy), and then the rest of the list.

Took a 2 hour nap. Wow.

Got a text from one of my 1st graders with pics of his work -- he is SOOO like my boys were at that age. His map has a pencil drawing of a monster eating the earth, and the flower craft which I mailed out (and did a tutorial video for) is a butterfly, LOL! It was an extra craft for his class, so that is fine, but cracks me up.

*text came, obviously, from the 1st grader's mom, not the 1st grader directly....

Getting ready to do this week's craft video, then will break for Friday Night Sew-In (online, via FB). Should be fun!

Margaret, yay for the calf!  Selkie, beautiful pics of the flowers.

  • video chatted with some friends from work
  • freezer delivered early, I sterilized the outside, clothes are in washer
  • took pup for a long walk, let her chase some birds
  • just waiting on a call from my mom's doctor
  • still uncertain about dinner/pizza and wine calling my name tonight

folded and put away one load of laundry

washed, dried and put away dishes, knives and pans

Wiped down counters, stove and microwave.

Sliced open a finger on a can.  Now I have a tight bandage (for pressure) and a nitrile glove to protect it from moisture etc.  It's not bad but a touch frustrating.

going to order take out now.

Folded/put away a load of laundry.

Made the bias strip, ironed it, sewed it in place on the quilt project. Fused on the gazillion "light bulbs" and the separate gazillion "light bulb bases" (minus I need to cut 9 more of the bases). Will do the 9 more little bases, and stop there for the night on that project, probably.

Heading out to plant veggies in the newly created garden beds, then dinner (chicken & veggies), then....? More sewing? Movie night? Not sure.

Thanks for the cow pic, Margaret. I'll add your friends to our prayer list.

Laundry is running.

Pulled the chx for tomorrow's dinner.

Enjoyed my back yard as the sun went down and it got dark.

Kids and dh are watching a movie. I find movies very draining lately and mostly prefer winding down with a book in the evenings.
