8filltheheart Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 https://www.audiobooksync.com/blog/toolkit-announcement-2020/ Faust and 12th Night are both Naxos recordings. (I am such a huge Naxos fan. Their recordings are top notch.) The Christmas Carol 4 4 Quote
RootAnn Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Bumping as this has started already. Different this year as they require you to download an app called Sora. It still looks like you can keep the recordings, but I haven't really looked into it. 1 Quote
Miss Tick Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I was wondering if they will still play on apps like overdrive. Maybe I'll ask my teen to investigate it. Quote
RootAnn Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 So, I just tried adding Audiobook sync as an Overdrive Library & it worked. But, it might have worked because I already have the Sora App installed. It seems to pull up Sora inside the Overdrive app. You can no longer download them directly from the website like you used to be able to. 1 Quote
Miss Tick Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 As if I need more apps on my life. Sigh. We've used the audiosync audio books in the past, though, so I imagine we will again this year. 🙂 18 minutes ago, RootAnn said: So, I just tried adding Audiobook sync as an Overdrive Library & it worked. That is good news for me on a day like today when it took me half an hour to remember my email password while trying to log in on a different computer. 🙄Not sure how much more technology I can handle atm. 😄 Quote
RootAnn Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 In Overdrive, try searching for "audiobook" in the Add Libraries area. Two come up on mine & one is clearly Sync. You have to register w/an email address on the Sync site & with the same email in the app. See if you can get to the books w/out adding Sora. 1 Quote
RootAnn Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) Faust is available now! @8FillTheHeart Edited May 14, 2020 by RootAnn 1 Quote
8filltheheart Posted May 14, 2020 Author Posted May 14, 2020 Thanks @RootAnn!! Now I have to figure out the new download system for this yr. Quote
RootAnn Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I am not sure how obvious it is, but the Faust audio is Abridged. I have not yet figured out if it is possible to download the recordings onto your computer, but from reading info on Sora, it should be possible to listen to it through your regular internet browser.
