Good morning!

Today is sunny, so I am going to punt most of my inside work and be outside in my yard instead. We'll see how much I actually accomplish, but at least I will get my vitamin D and some exercise!

Work outside - mostly weeding.

Help kids with school as necessary.

Call mom

Contact a few friends

Do some inside tidying and cleaning?

Dinner is leftovers. Or maybe we'll grill burgers?

Evening family walk

Good morning!

The air is filled with birds singing and chattering, wild turkeys gobbling (loudly!), and cows mooing. The sounds of spring!🌷

Lather, rinse, repeat is the theme of my life right now, too.

  • office work - keep working on finishing up March
  • unpack UPS/Fedex boxes in garage (which have been marinating in Lysol spray for a couple days)
  • spend at least an hour cleaning (it gets messy so fast with everyone home, and there is lots of mud being tracked in)
  • laundry
  • figure out what needs to be ordered from Vitacost & Vegan Essentials
  • look around on the AeroGarden site
  • dinner: leftovers
  • watch a John Mulaney special with the kids tonight

Good morning!

More of the same here, too.

...fold laundry
...1st Science Power Point
...assorted videos for class (1st science, 2 mini-craft projects)
...school with DS15
...sew
...lunch (DH is in charge)
...pork for dinner
...watch the 2nd half of Lord of the Rings (we're doing the extended editions, so 2 discs per movie, we're on disc 2 of the 6)

Oh, and remember to scan & email DS's school work to his teacher(s), and decide if I need to mail supplies for this week's crafts or not, and if so, gather & mail those.

I did finish the details on the cute little gnomes on the sewing project, and it didn't take as long as I feared, so if I get my act together, I should be able to do today's power point, videos, and get all the Christmas lights added to the sewing project.

Good morning! Everyone home today. All. Day. Long.

  • coffee/paper
  • hide in sewing room- hard when there are no walls- just a space in the basement- try a different blouse top
  • a little bit of weeding, a little bit of checking the plants
  • keep the house clean- a challenge with  everyone here all the time
  • keep the kids moving on school- giving extra as a way of distraction
  • read- 2 library books left, about 6 books lying around I haven't read yet- but mostly re-reading favorites
  • figure out dinner

Have a great day!

Happy Thursday!  Am I the only person who had to think "what day is it" this morning?

It looks like a nice day.  Maybe we can get some outdoor things done?

  • Lazed in bed too long.
  • Woke the kids up, sort of.
  • Got a coffee.
  • Processed & put away some laundry.
  • Texted our driver (just a check-in of course).
  • Caught up on emails, social media, calendar, news, electronic school stuff.

To do:

  • Lots of client reports.
  • Make the kids do their school work, music practice, exercise, picking up, and showers.
  • Exercise, reading.
  • Finish the laundry.
  • Housework.
  • Get organized.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Nope, you're not the only one. When I saw this thread, I thought, hmmm, this must be yesterday's thread, because yesterday was Thursday, right?? My days are all blurred together.

Good morning. So dd found out Monday evening that she was exposed to the virus, and she came home this weekend. The patient was in the hospital for something else and started showing symptoms the day after dd was in her room during the night. So she is quarantined for two weeks paid leave. We are to watch ourselves and avoid going out as little as possible, but we are self-quarantining.

This is starting to get to ds if you wouldn't mind to say a prayer for him. He can't swim like normal. He's the only child at home. So he's stuck here with two middle aged adults. He can Facetime with his gf and friends as well as play video games, but I think it's more than just that.

school, tutoring 1 student, and anything I decide to do in the house is basically today

(((Amy))) I hope your dd and all of you stay healthy! So sorry that your ds is having a tough time. I was thinking the other day that if there is one bright spot in my boys' college year being derailed, it's that they are home to keep dd company. I can imagine how unhappy she would be if she were stuck at home with only boring old mom & dad.🙂

Yard report!

One bed weeded and good to go. The next one will require  a mechanical tiller bc the grass and weeds have too thick a root system. Posting on Next Door to see if I can borrow one.
Vines over our deck minimally trimmed so that I can walk by without ducking. To do it right requires power hedge trimmers. That is a dh job. I don't do power tools.
Firepit uncovered. We have loads of wood, so next clear night we'll build a fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows.
Dog house rolled over to get sun in it and outside water bowl filled.
Herb seeds inventoried. Need mint and rosemary as plants instead of seed.
Looked through the shed. 😱😱 Needs a big time culling, but we can't get rid of stuff like that easily. Are the dump and danfgerous household materials drop off still open? Check on this.
Paint the shed! Project for the kids! Very much needed and not hard.
Wind chime is bedraggled and needs replacing. It lasted at least 10 yrs. so I don't mind buying a new one.
Need a new bluebird house too. Some big bird chipped awsy at the hole and made it much bigger. Woodpecker? What bigger birds are cavity nesters?

And this is just the back yard! Good thing we have lots of time on our hands...

Got my fridge organized and decided to use up every last bit of produce before our next box arrives tomorrow.

Roasted broccoli, mushrooms, & asparagus - will have these with pasta tonight.

Also roasted beets.

Cut up carrots, cukes, radishes, & peppers for veggie trays in fridge.

Put thyme and celery in the freezer for soup.

Made a big bowl of coleslaw.

Cleaned the kitchen

Started a shopping list

Split two big bottles of arthritis pills for my dogs (such an annoying & time consuming task)

Made a pitcher of tea (get your minds out of the gutter, people!)

Finished the 1st grade science power point. They will get some fun videos later, too.

Started dinner -- pork loin w/sweet potatoes in the crock pot. Mixed up a half bottle of mojo verde sauce with a half jar of peach preserves to make a sauce for it. Pretty tasty, but next time we are out for groceries, I will check the sauces aisle for some good stuff.

Ate lunch.

Took a nap.

Checked on the plants; we planted 2 Japanese maples last weekend, that we'd been growing in pots for a while. We had a freeze before planting them, and only one seems to be waking up. 😞 DH is threatening to pull up the non-waking-up one. I hope it starts to send out leaves soon; I really want them both to live.

Heard from my quilt group that we're meeting in a parking lot on Sunday to swap off our projects. Each one will open her trunk, you'll hop out, place your project in the trunk of the person who gets it next, get back in the car, and then that person will put her project in her person's trunk, etc. until all 5 of us have passed off our projects. No interaction. No hugs. Just 5 open trunks. The organizer promises her husband will take pictures of us and our illicit activity to post on FB, lol! The whole group is conspiring to wear sunglasses and masks. I'm so glad we can have some hilarity over this in these times.

Heading upstairs to do school with DS15. With DH home, he noticed we skip some stuff sometimes (well, these weeks, yes, because I am very truly swamped with all the work required to keep my classes going......time to make DS do things on his own; even with his dyslexia, he can do some of these things solo I think.....)(or put DH in charge, because honestly, I am spending so.much.time. doing school prep now...)

Went through all the mail - sorted bills etc.

decided that I should do the online census form.  Logged in.  They have my address wrong (our city is often put down as a neighboring city because the US postal service refuses to give us our own unique zip code.  There is no way I can see to correct the address.  Does it matter?  Our city often misses out on taxes and other things due to zip code thing so I'm thinking that it might if it means that we aren't allocated resources. . .    Have sent a message to local people asking.  They are saying that their forms had the same "mistake" but that it doesn't matter.  Should I believe them?

Switched to the front yard bc it is less hot. No fence, more breeze. Plus get to wave at neighbors.

Hacked down most of a weed (that dh thought was a proper shrub?), which was towering over a hydrangea. Also removed a lot of English ivy that was choking my poor hydrangea. Fertilizer for that going on my list.

Weeded the small circle bed at the mailbox.

Started on another bed. This one will take less work bc it was well weeded and mulched in the late fall. It faces east and I am thinking of seeding morning glories on the fence row. I have tall bulbs in the back, irises and glads and lilies. Need a short perennial for the front part.

Taking a water break now. Put Ds' teddy bear in a window for the Bear Hunt peeps. Lots of young families near us and lots of walkers these days. Anyone else's area doing this? I had noticed the bears on our walks, but just today saw the explanation on Next Door.

No offers for a tiller yet. If we don't get one over the weekend, we'll rent one, but I hate to pay $40 for a few minutes' work!

Talked to my mother- deep bone-in sigh. I can't even ...

My shirt turned out lovely and dd2 gave it a thumbs up (she was actually surprised how cute it was). I am feeling more confident- so on to the more expensive fabric tomorrow.

The kids are all working and then they will do their workouts. Mind-body-spirit. I am like a life-coach here.

Scout, yes, our neighborhood just posted a thing about the Bear Hunt bears. I'm going to print some color sheets, because while we have stuffed animals still in the house, none are bears.

Jen, I give the same sigh when talking to my mom, generally. Hugs to you.

Got done with school with DS for the day, and DH is happy. He and DS22 are cutting boards to make the beds for the new veggie plants. Yay!

Got instructions for cloth face masks, need to reach out to some folks near me to find out if this pattern is a good one or not or if their hospitals have specific patterns they want followed. Now that I'm getting the hang of the online school stuff, I may have time to make some of these.

Answered some emails from parents; one got the flower craft I sent and completed it, yay!! I hope that means others got it as well. Another had questions about reading; sent some ideas. And I got 2 registrations for next year, so need to send that welcome email soon (need to compose it first).

Grabbing a snack and then heading up to sew.

Tidied up the yard mess

Put out lots of leftovers for smorgaboard dinner. We have no veggies except onions left, little fruit, few eggs ....  Gotta go to the grocery tomorrow. ☹️ Four adult-sized people eat a lot of food!

Walked the dog, about 1.5 mi. Not much compared to you, Margaret, but my hip aches and I don't want sciatica tonight. We have a very thoroughly walked dog lately. I will not need to have his nails clipped anytime soon bc they are bring filed on the pavement.

Next up: shower, read, listen to a podcast.

Jean, if someone noticed it in your cart, there'll be a run on it.  We bought powdered Gatorade and Tang just to have on hand...people were asking what aisle, the limits.  But please, no, don't hoard the chocolate pudding!  Even if mine is sugar free.  🙂

  • Made a new banana loaf recipe and I can't even sample it.  That is love right there people, that is love.
  • Took an online painting class through a group I had joined.  Very fun!
  • TriTip is in crockpot, ready to be sliced, mashed potatoes, green beans

I was way more productive than I thought I would be today.

Thanks for the prayers!

So, I decided to let ds have a break from the school work. With days running together, he can just do some on the weekend.

Before this happened, he had expressed interest in a guitar for his birthday and trying to learn to play. I made a couple of calls because we know the drummer for Casting Crowns. He loaned David a small squire guitar and an amp. We drove to his house, and he put it out on the porch and showed him how to hook it up (from a distance of course). It's definitely helped improve ds' mood!
