JenneinCA Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 My son got the email this morning that his commencement ceremony will be online and not in person. He is disappointed. We are disappointed. I know it is the safe thing to do but... he worked really hard for this and he wanted to walk across that stage in front of everyone and get the diploma. Nothing really can be done, but I am sad. 1 6 Quote
Kassia Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 I'm sorry for you and your son. Such a hard time for so many. I'm heartbroken about many things related to the pandemic right now. It's tough. 😞 1 Quote
Joules Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Ds is fine with it, as he is an extreme introvert, but his university is postponing. No data, but when it is safe. Maybe yours will do the same and it can be a mini reunion for them Quote
ThisIsTheDay Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 My son got word last week that his was canceled. I am hugely disappointed; he's taking it in stride. Several other large universities in our state are postponing until December, and one has said they wlll do it online! I'm hoping my son's school will update with another solution. He HAS worked for this, and besides, how else will I get a nice family picture of us all dressed up? 😉 Quote
fourisenough Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 My DD’s is postponed and the college is promising it will be rescheduled. We’re all super disappointed. Quote
Bootsie Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 My university has rescheduled commencement for Aug 8. Hopefully we will be able to do it then. But, many students will not be able to come back for campus, especially the international students who had families planning to attend in May. Quote
