Good morning!

  • Go out in search of TP, then pick up my raw milk.  Success!
  • Kids up and going.
  • Dry rub on ribs.
  • Feed sourdoough starter
  • Make breakfast casserole
  • Online class for me (which I've missed for several weeks)
  • Tutoring in Zoom
  • Help set up laptop for kids' piano lessons, in Skype
  • Read
  • Have ds call my mom.
  • Wash sheets and towels
  • Put new hangers away
  • Clear my staging area and other general tidying
  • IF the sun comes out today, I will scrap some of this list to work in my yard. Want to weed two or three beds in the next couple days. At least the rain has made the ground soft.

Good morning! More of the same. Dh working from home, ds2 working online, the other kids, on the most boring spring break ever. dd2 will probably be glad for homework now.

  • coffee/paper
  • keep the house picked up and clean
  • check garden, give some things water
  • probably out for groceries- we are expecting a shelter in place order in the next few days
  • dd2 has a call with a coach about next year- she has been chatting with teammates- so that is a bright spot (ordered gear yesteray)
  • not sure what else is going on- we all seem to be settling into a routine that works- even as it is so so lacking.
  • figure out dinner

Have a great day!

Good morning!

We had to have another raccoon funeral last night.🙁 Yes, second one this week. Ds19 was down the valley at the far end of the horse pasture and found a raccoon that was severely injured. It had been attacked by something, probably coyotes, and was on death's door. He called up to the house and ds21 and I came down and put the poor thing out of its misery.😞 Margaret, you were not the only one tromping around in the dark! By the time we were done burying it, boy was it dark. We walked 1/2 mile up the hill with no flashlight and coyotes all around. And the ticks are already out in full force - ugh.

My wish is that next time I see a raccoon, it's a happy and healthy one...

  • office work - finish up March bills & paperwork
  • drop off mail
  • text farrier with update on Butterscotch (still lame)
  • mop mudroom and front entryway
  • spray off doormats
  • cut up veggies & roast asparagus
  • think about ordering a few Easter things for the kids
  • dinner: ??

Happy Wednesday!  It's been a long week already!

Done:

  • Ignored many alarms and finally woke around 8am.
  • Took out the garbage.
  • Processed the mail.
  • Coffee 1 & 2.
  • Read my kids' 6,000 texts from yesterday.  Most of them involved one friend who is obviously stir crazy!
  • Woke the kids and told them to do school.
  • Sent out some work reports.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, social media, news, and electronic school stuff.

To do:

  • Lots more work reports.
  • Laundry - I am seriously desperate.
  • Conference call, ugh!!!
  • Exercise, a little reading, some housework.
  • Kid's first OCD therapy session online.
  • Make kids do music practice and exercise in addition to daily school work.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Morning, all!  Overslept and missed my special Target shopping hour.  I guess I will wait for next week. This is what happens when you decide to go on a major cleaning/disinfecting spree late at night.

To do:

  • Doctor will be calling back regarding my mom, Rx.
  • lots of coffee, devotional
  • help dd with her room, purge/organize/order some shelves, storage, etc.
  • clean out master closet and listen to Audible download
  • chicken in crockpot...did meatloaf last night, instead
  • pay, file bills
  • place Amazon order

Have a great day!

Finished the K history power point, minus adding audio.

Stirred up controversy here & on FB asking about the restaurant tip issue. Oops. Will still probably call the restaurant and just ask "so, this was our total, but this was our charge, can you help me figure out what happened?"

Ate some of the leftover salad for "breakfast" and got verbally mildly chastised by DH who accused me of eating the lunch food. There is still plenty for lunch, and I will continue eating my plate then, so no harm done. :sigh:

Forgot DS had class online until the minute it was starting and he happened to come downstairs. Oops. Sent him up and got him logged in.

Working on the 1st grade history power point now.

human care done

pet care done

medical care done

then I spent too much time researching Slache's civics question (I put a question on the chat board).  😉

then I spent even more time trying desperately to find my car keys.  Fortunately I finally found them somehow tangled up in the dog leash!  I didn't actually have to go anywhere.  I just had to get stuff from the car for the taxes.  So my keys are safe and I have documentation I need to continue work on the taxes.

Well, I had a pattern fail this morning, so that was too bad.

Good news is that I didn't waste any expensive fabric to discover it.

Still not entirely sure why it was such a disaster- but I have a few ideas.

I need a little food and a book for a while.

Tomorrow, I am going to try again.

After lunch, DH apologized for being annoyed that I ate "lunch" for breakfast.

Worked on my power point for 1st grade history all.after.noon. Got bored. Decided if I was bored making it, they would be very bored listening to it. Figured out a tweak and finished it. Much better!

In between, took a nap.

Forgot to take out pork for dinner; will encourage DH to make breakfast for dinner instead since he's not been making it for breakfast and we have a LOT of eggs.

Going to get the lumber for the raised beds. Hardware stores are still considered essential, and as we have the plants and the dirt and need to get them in the ground so they don't die.....all of which we had in progress/in motion before stay home orders came down, I think we're okay doing this. Besides that it's lumber which means no one will handle it but us, and the cart automatically puts us further than 6 ft away from others.

Kind of a humdrum day here.

Mostly did cleaning and laundry and a little bit of work stuff.

Got dragged around by an unhappy 1200 lb. horse while ds21 and I tried to medicate him. It took a mixture of sternness and sweet talk, but we got it down the hatch.

Ds21 dropped the mail off for me and now he is doing driving practice with dd. Since we're not supposed to be out on the roads unless absolutely necessary, they're staying on our land. She is getting really good at driving up and down our 1/2 mile lane.🙂

I have some leftover rice and decided to make Tex Mex rice salad with chipotle lime dressing for dinner. Also making guacamole and homemade tortilla chips.

Kids did their church small groups online today.

I remade the bed that I washed all the linens from.

We took a long walk around the neighborhood. Saw many people, dogs, and a lovely sunset. The late daffodils are still blooming. Cherry trees, crabapples, and redbud are in full bloom. Bradford pears are already gone to leaf. Next up, dogwoods. Lovely!

Tomorrow is supposed to be 75 and sunny. If it is, I am punting almost all indoor work to be outside in it.

Next up:

Read and listen to a podcast.

Ooh, that sounds nice. You are way ahead of us. Our crocuses bloomed for one day and then it snowed again and they went right back into hibernation.🙂

Brrrr! You can keep all that serious winter stuff! I grew up with it and do NOT miss it!

We will likely have a cold snap still, but spring has sprung in middle TN.

Late text from ds' teacher about an assignment not turned in. Sigh. Virtual school is not nearly as hands-off for me as real school was. Now, after stressful interactions with ds and his teacher, I am all tense and will have to read for hours to be relaxed and fall asleep.
