Gray and raining again. Ugh!

  • Get kids started on school.
  • Pay two bills
  • Order a replacement set of headphones with a mic.
  • Tutoring prep
  • Fold and put away two loads of laundry
  • Walk, if it stops raining?
  • Clean a bathroom.
  • Have kids call mom
  • Drive around and listen to an audiobbok with kids. Pick up books from Ds' teacher while we're out.
  • Dinner is chx fajitas.
  • Redbox movie? Or maybe a board game night?

Eta: My blood sugar tested at 115 this morning! Getting very close to where it should be! A long way from the almost 400 where I started.

Good morning!

Lovely spring morning here. I am feeling victorious because I managed to snag some much-needed supplies for work -  a few cans of Lysol spray and the tp I ordered that was supposed to be backordered until late April has shipped and will arrive on Friday. Party time!🎉🎉🎉

We're feeling grateful because we found out yesterday that our second business is also considered essential and can stay open. Our new rules include employees staying far apart from each other, no face to face interaction with customers, one employee per vehicle, and regular disinfecting of every surface. Here's to hoping we can all stay healthy and busy.

  • office work - keep chipping away at my pile
  • drop off mail
  • make a list of everything horse-related that needs to get accomplished this spring
  • vacuum
  • open windows and get some fresh air in the house
  • dd has a violin lesson (online)
  • dinner: salad and creamy garlic pasta with roasted mushrooms

Scout, great news on the blood sugar!  Selkie, happy for you!

Morning, all!  Hopefully there will be a break in the rain for awhile.  I really need to air the house out but this last rain was accompanied by some strong winds.

  • coffee, morning devotional
  • take puppy for extended walk
  • some type of chicken dish in the crockpot
  • start laundry
  • do something with my hair...video conference this morning
  • call my mom's doctor regarding Rx
  • Check in with family
  • tackle kitchen counters, cabinets, mop floors
  • Day 1 of PiYo
  • take a virtual tour of someplace beautiful
  • read, relax

Have a great day!

That is excellent, Selkie!

And way to go, Scout! Really great news about your blood sugar level!

The sun is out today which nice. dd2 and ds3 are doing a challenge run every day- so I am glad for good weather for them. ds2 is trying to get a routine in place for his online classes and life. Even though he was homeschooled and can set up a routine at home- for the past two years, home has been vacation- so the mental readjustment is significant. That was why dd1 elected to stay in her apartment at school. She is pretty bored- but has taught herself to knit socks and she does yoga outside.

For ds1- his phone died (because those are the things that happen to ds1- jobs disappear, phones break, etc) but apparently he and his gf and roommates have started a garden. So that is good.

today:

  • coffee/paper
  • pay bills/$ to kids (done)
  • laundry- sheets and towels
  • clean bathrooms
  • read a little
  • sewing room things
  • figure out food
  • not sure what else- Spring break for ds3 and dd2- so no school work there

Have a great day!

human care done.  BTW - I am wearing my Winnie-the-Pooh sweatshirt.  It makes me happy.  And every single time I wear it somewhere like the grocery store, someone mentions that it makes them happy too.  A lot of happy Winnie-the-Pooh memories out there!

pet care done

medical care done

I woke up really late today.  Guess it's good that I got some sleep.  But that just means I'm more nervous about my work.  Ugh.  Also forgot about a conference call, joined late, and had to answer about something that was supposed to be done before the call ....

As for the kids, I am thinking about just letting them fly free on school as long as they freaking pass the 8th grade.  I mean what a great opportunity for them to learn how to manage their time and responsibilities.  I have very little information on what they are supposed to do and no sensible way to check on them before it's too late.  Will anyone ever care what grades they got in the 3rd trimester?  Why can't I just be that parent who believes in kids taking their own responsibility?

Done:

  • Woke up.
  • Woke the kids up and told them to get on their school work.
  • Wished my niece happy birthday.
  • Had a few coffees so far.  (I heard drinking warm liquid is preventative, so yay me!)
  • Processed laundry from dryer.
  • Caught up on calendar, social media, emails, texts, news, electronic school stuff.
  • Sent my kids' phone numbers to their teacher so she could facetime them.  Had a short discussion with her.
  • Had a conference call.
  • Sent out a couple work emails so far.

To do:

  • More coffee.
  • Send out at least 4 client reports before end of business day.
  • Send info to kid's psychologist and figure out how to send a payment.
  • Clean house.
  • Laundry.
  • Reading, exercise.  Hope to take a walk like yesterday.
  • More work in the evening.  Really want to get caught up!
  • Whatever I'm forgetting.

Hi, y'all!

Selkie, so glad about your 2nd business! I know that is a huge relief. And Scout, yay on the blood sugar! Wow!  And Margaret, congrats to the new Eagle; you are doing such a good job with all of them, keeping all of the Scout stuff running smoothly.

I have had a busy day so far:
...took DS to therapy
...got a call he was discharged; today was his last day! yay!!
...made my power point for K science for next week
...picked up DS
...stopped at the nursery for veggies & herbs -- we got tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, watermelons, basil, and mint. Assorted varieties of each. DH is building some raised beds and we'll plant this week.
...called and ordered Pho for take-out from our favorite, locally owned Pho place. They were super excited to see us; we were super excited to have yummy Pho for lunch!
...put away a load of clean laundry

Still to do:
...add audio to the power point
...help DS15 with his science homework
...scan & email DS15's history homework
...write & mail a check
...do the accompanying videos for K science
...SEW
...dinner....not sure what.
...TV/Movie....not sure what

Talked to mom on the phone.

Took out the trash and recycling, just in time. Here come the rain again.

Read a WORLD magazine article.

Played with the silly dog.

Reader, congrats on your ds' last day of therapy!

Two of the kids and I drove down to the post office and dropped our mail in the outside box. We are only supposed to be out driving around for work- or health- related reasons, so the kids are looking for any opportunity to get out of the house.🙂

Ordered garden seeds. We haven't had a vegetable garden for a few years and I need to think about where to put it. The location we used in the past is now horse pasture.

Did horse chores, cleaned the kitchen, put some leftovers in the freezer, did laundry, watered plants.

Jean, you're a good neighbor.

I finished the audio for the power point, went out in the yard and made videos of my trees -- we looked at the tree rings on my stump from last year's Christmas tree, looked at what all living things I could find on the trees/plants in my backyard, and looked at the spread of the oak tree and how if you look up under it, the branches block the sky. That is now all edited down from 10+ minutes to 7, and from 11 stop/start video segments into one smooth(ish) video. It's uploading to YT as I type, which means I am DONE with the science portion of K for next week.

I like this method better than doing just power points in the week, and all videos on the weekend. And with no more therapy (yay!!) I gain 2 hrs/day from not having to drive DS and pick him up. So that is very good.

Now to grab a snack and do school with DS15. Then sewing.
