cintinative Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I have frozen stock and frozen cooked turkey. I am thinking I can't defrost them, make soup, and re-freeze. Can I saute mirepoix (carrots, onion and celery) and then freeze that? Or would that not work? Thanks in advance! Quote
cintinative Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 Just now, Arctic Mama said: Yeah it works fine. You can freeze pretty much any veggie mixture at any stage of cooking. I just found this online also : "Mirepoix can be made and stored in freezer plastic bags. Make sure to label them and use within two months. Freezing might make the mixture a bit soft. It’s best to use this in soups and stews that are cooked for a long time or blended where the texture does not need to be chunky." I am going to try it. I have some celery that will go bad. 1 1 Quote
