JustEm Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 As of now she is still working in the office. Today they had a meeting to access who could work from home. Dh told them we don't have a quiet place to work and we have no dedicated landline in case a call needs to be transferred. All I could think when he told me that was, "I'm were live in a 5 bedroom 3000 sq ft house that is set up perfectly to cut off part of the house to make it quiet. Plus, we could get a dedicated landline with a quick phone call to set up service." I hate the black and white thinking that he has sometimes. We'll obviously be able to make it work if we need to so let's just make it work now before they have implemented either work from home, work in an office with other people who couldn't make it work or what don't work at all because you have to self quarantine? Whine over. His work is the only thing that has me currently really stressed about this whole situation. All our self distancing seems useless for out safety if he's unable to self distance. Quote

We do not have a dedicated land line, but our land line is not needed for anything else. Sure, someone might call. But my friends text or call my cell phone. And the room my husband uses to work from home is one where he can shut the door. He does not get a whole office renovation. Maybe your husband could call them back. Quote

Maybe your husband could call them back. For his job it would have to be a dedicated landline but it is something I'd pay to set up in a heartbeat if it meant he could stay home. Plus, he'd need it pretty quiet since he is on the phone 90% of the time with clients. But we could easily set it up where he could use the guest room and just keep kids out of that hallway and away from that flight of stairs. When I talk to him tonight I'll be making sure he talks to his manager again about moving forward with working from home. I just wish I didn't have to be the one to think about it Quote
catz Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Oh I would be irritated by that too. We have a wifi landline that is like $6 a month. 1 Quote
