We're doing really good. Spending has been close to zero so far. Haven't done a grocery trip yet. I did spend $40 on veggie seeds that we're planting today. And will likely spend another $100 on fruit trees and some soil later this month.

All the bills are paid for March already so dh's next paycheck is all savings.

How is March zooming by so fast?

For the last few months the kids have been collecting money for a beach trip they want to do. So, any spare change or money they get goes in a jar. Random relatives have been throwing their change in when they're visiting just to support the kids saving efforts and teamwork. Earlier this week we counted it up and they had roughly $130. So, I went ahead and booked our camping site since those fill up very quickly. 2 nights for $100 camping at the beach. I'm very excited. Now, they have until June to save for food and non beach entertainment. So, what all we do at the beach is up to how much they save.

Since we plan on hunkering down and staying home as much as possible I imagine our spending for the rest of the month will be zero or close to it.

This month is dh's first opportunity to earn a monthly bonus of up to $800 and as of yesterday he's earned a $475 bonus. He Still has the rest of the month to increase that. He won't see the bonus until his June paycheck I think. But that'll be a nice time to get more money

Well our retirement accounts I am sure are a lot less than they were a week ago.   🙂

Still buying more things for a stock up.

But now that everything is cancelled, we will be saving tons of money.   We will have a large credit for lessons if they start this year again or for next school year.   Saving tons on gas too.

We got our money back from the trip to Japan we were going on.

We should take this extra time and do our taxes.

Dh just got his bonus and raise yesterday.   Very nice.  I am feeling so stressed that I couldn't even enjoy it.   It isn't like you can use some of it to go on a trip or something.  Oh well.  It is just going to make our e-fund even bigger.  We are kind of torn about investing right now and keep a lot of money liquid.   We do have large Roth IRAs that we could use after our efund.  I don't think things are going to get that bad, but it makes me feel better.

Dh is working from home now.  So that is going to lower our bills a lot too.

Still need to do our taxes.    Got back some of our lesson money for things.

It is quiet in here this month. How are people doing?

I've had an uncharacteristic itch to spend needlessly this week and have given in. I spent $200 on a Chromebook for myself. I can try to justify it all I want but the reality is I shopped impulsively.  Oh well, I'll enjoy it when it comes.

I also made smart large purchases, like buying a large Netflix gift card at a greatly reduced price. So we are now paid up on Netflix until fall and I saved almost 50% on that.

Because of the coronavirus, dh's work has a lot of people out. Basically, the company gave anyone who was at risk or lived with someone at risk 2 additional weeks of paid leave and a lot of people took it immediately. Dh is eligible but decided to wait and see if things get worse to take it. So many people are out that dh's department has unlimited overtime and it is paying double pay. So, he plans on working an extra hour or two a night to sock some extra money away. I doubt he'll decide to work on his day off unless a manager specifically asks him to. But we're looking forward to some extra cash

Where do you get a Netflix gift card?  We are thinking of signing up especially now.  Normally we are gone every night, but now we have tons of time to fill.

That is awesome of your dh's company.  I think he is smart to wait and see.  I hope he gets to work some overtime.  Score.

I bought the gift card off eBay, good discounts come up periodically you just have to watch for them.

He is planning to work an additional hour or 2 each day.

Can you link an add to a gift card like you bought?   I see some cards and then some offers for a month at a certain price.  Is that it?

The month is almost over, how is everyone doing?

Dh got paid out his bonus today.  It was a lot more than I thought it would be.  Invested a lot of it.

We are supporting another family financially right now.

I think we may end up getting some new furniture now.
