Jean in Newcastle Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 I am looking at ds' highschool diploma which I ordered online from somewhere and no where on this does it tell me where I ordered it from! Can you give me some links to some companies? (If it matters, this one came with a seal and a nice cover). Also - dd worked very hard and has now finished her high school courses but does it matter if the date on her diploma is in March? Quote
Another Lynn Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 homeschooldiploma.com is one. about the date....I don't think it matters, but I might pick a date in may just to look more typical.... 1 1 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 The only I wonder about the date is - she's looking for full time work now and will be telling them that she's graduated. If she has a later grad date on a paper diploma, I don't want someone accusing her of lying or fraud. 2 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 Oh and I had used homeschooldiploma.com so that part is settled! 3 Quote
Lori D. Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 We were very pleased with the ones we ordered through Homeschool Diploma -- they have a number of options, including a gold Honors seal if your student has a high GPA. Here are some threads on diplomas (all linked at the bottom of PAGE 1 of the "Homeschool Motherlode #2". - Do I need to make a diploma? - Diplomas (print your own? where to buy?) - Date on high school diploma - What did you use as a diploma certificate (what kind of paper to print it on?) For the graduation date -- is your DD completing any DE? Or will still be working on any projects or volunteer work, or still involved with any school-based sports or extracurricular activities that will run through the end of the traditional school year (May/June)? Or any opportunities that may pop up between now and May/June that you would want included in her high school records? If so, then put a May or June date so those things can be included. Otherwise, I'm with Another Lynn -- it probably doesn't matter, but a more typical date is less likely to raise any future red flags. 😉 1 Quote

Ahhh... we were cross-posting... 😉 Unless the work application requires a graduation date or wants to see the diploma, I don't think it's a problem. Esp. if the application asks "are you a graduate" -- Yes; she has completed the high school graduation requirements set by her administration (you). She is a graduate. The paper diploma is just verification of completion of requirements for graduation. A lot of places are interviewing now, and don't expect to actually hire the students full-time until May/June anyways, so it may not even come up, other than your DD can truthfully say "I can work full time hours starting now, as I'm a homeschooler". katilac Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I would put the date of her actual graduation in March. Quote
