bttrflynthesky
My 5th and 7th graders want to learn Astronomy next. Any great recommendations for curriculum and living books?
Lori D. ikslo
For a fun reading supplement, you could add in the George's Secret Key series by Lucy and Stephen Hawking.
ikslo
Also, find out if your area has a local monthly stargazing group. The last place we lived, a local park had an Astronomical Society Observatory open to the public the second Saturday each month. Where we are now, there is a free public stargazing event held monthly at a local park where people bring and set up their telescopes and focus on different parts of the sky, and you can go around and view things without the cost of having your own equipment. Star finder apps on your smartphone are awesome, too. There's also science.nasa.gov and their astronomy picture of the day: https://science.nasa.gov/astronomy-picture-of-the-day
