What book should I read?

Recommended Posts

I want to read a book about self-sufficiency and living in the country or a small country town.   Not really a going-off-the-grid type thing (but that’s ok, too), just about living rurally up *north* (US)—dealing snow and warm conditions.  Either alone or with a spouse.
Must be NONFICTION.
Available on kindle.

any suggestions?

Two vintage classics (one of which is definitely off the grid, because there was no grid in the Northwoods in the 1940s):

We Took to the Woods by Louise Dickinson Rich

Thank you! I was thinking "oh, what was that great book by the woman who moved to Maine...?" And there it is!

Great recommendation! Doesn't look like it's available for Kindle, though.
